Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Parrish
Hi Rachel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my career in marketing and PR for global brands like the NBA, WNBA, NBC Sports, and State Farm, honing my skills in audience engagement, storytelling, and strategic communications. Eventually, I realized these corporate strategies could help individuals stand out too, so I launched my “What a Publicist Thinks” series on TikTok—offering bite-sized, actionable branding insights.
Everything changed when I posted a spontaneous video about shifting club culture, which went ultra-viral and amassed nearly 21 million views in just a few days. With all eyes on my next move, I released another “What a Publicist Thinks” video that garnered more than 8 million views, transforming skeptics into fans and attracting 45K new followers overnight. This surge led to media features on TMZ, The Tamron Hall Show, Complex Style, Newsweek, and PBS—while also boosting attention to my core branding content.
That experience taught me two things: the power of staying true to your core message, and the huge demand for straightforward personal branding and PR advice. Today, I’ve moved from behind-the-scenes work to leading my own consulting and coaching practice, helping entrepreneurs, creators, and professionals elevate their personal brands, engage authentically with their audiences, and drive sustainable growth.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a straightforward path. Transitioning from working behind the scenes for large organizations to stepping into the spotlight on my own felt intimidating. I questioned whether my personal insights would resonate without the backing of a big-name brand. Learning to trust my voice and approach took time, patience and a lot of confidence.
Then, when the unexpected viral moment hit, it flipped the script. Instead of simply giving advice, I was suddenly dealing with my own “crisis” moment in real time. It pushed me to think and respond quickly, applying the very PR principles I normally taught to others. Navigating a massive influx of attention, press inquiries, and divergent opinions was a lot to manage—not to mention the emotional rollercoaster of going from relative obscurity to being on platforms like TMZ and national TV outlets virtually overnight.
Another ongoing struggle has been striking a balance between embracing what my audience wants—straightforward, no-nonsense branding tips—and maintaining room for experimentation and personal growth. The lesson: each struggle brought me closer to my authentic voice, reinforced my adaptability, and ultimately helped me become a more empathetic and effective coach and consultant.
We’ve been impressed with Rae Christine Agency, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is centered around helping entrepreneurs, creators, and professionals unlock the full potential of their personal brands. We specialize in strategic brand storytelling, leveraging PR principles that I honed while working with major names like the NBA, WNBA, NBC Sports, and State Farm. I bring a behind-the-scenes sensibility and industry-tested methods to individuals who are looking to stand out in competitive markets.
What sets us apart is our holistic approach. Rather than focusing solely on social media metrics or press placements, we guide our clients in building a brand foundation that feels genuine and sustainable—one that resonates across platforms, partnerships, and professional milestones. We don’t just teach you tactics; we show you how to connect authentically with your audience, articulate your value, and attract the right kind of attention to fuel growth.
I’m most proud of the tangible results we’ve helped our clients achieve: elevated online presences, stronger industry credibility, and lasting relationships with their audiences. Our offerings range from one-on-one coaching to group workshops, as well as custom strategies for those with unique brand challenges. Whether you’re an emerging entrepreneur eager to build your personal brand from scratch or an established pro looking to level up, we’re here to demystify PR and branding, making these powerful tools accessible and actionable.
Ultimately, I want readers to know that our mission is to empower them—giving them the know-how, confidence, and clarity they need to share their stories boldly, drive meaningful engagement, and see tangible results in both their business growth and personal fulfillment.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’d say adaptability is the single most important characteristic that’s driven my success. The brand and marketing landscape changes quickly—what works today might feel outdated tomorrow. Being flexible enough to embrace new platforms, adjust messaging strategies, and step outside familiar boundaries has allowed me to consistently reach the right audiences and stay ahead of industry shifts. Instead of clinging to a tried-and-true formula, I lean into fresh perspectives and new ways to engage, ensuring that both my brand and my clients’ brands continue to evolve, resonate, and thrive.
