Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathaniel Hill.
Hi Nathaniel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Like most who work in the theater, my journey started with community theater and school plays. I loved them! But I also started to realize I wasn’t especially talented, singing didn’t come easy. In hindsight, the formative experience that relates even more to what I do today was being high school class president. I was fundraising to bring in revenue, producing events, and rallying the team. That’s a lot like being an entrepreneur of a small business.
More directly, my first internships were on Wicked and Ragtime on Broadway. I learned an incredible amount through watching and learning, and met some of the wonderful people who supported me and helped get me where I am. It didn’t hurt that they went on to produce hit shows and manage Hamilton worldwide!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest challenge was getting through COVID when Broadway shut down for 18 months. I’m glad I didn’t know it was going to be that long when the pandemic started, or I may have quit. Thankfully, I had a great assistant and support system at the time, who encouraged me to try new things out. We launched virtual coaching, meet-and-greets, and corporate events with Broadway stars, and ended up bringing in more revenue than we would have in tickets. I also seized the opportunity to hire some really smart people who had been furloughed. There were good months and bad months, but helping Broadway artists generate income when there was no other option for them kept me going, and ultimately built a bridge to a bigger company with more capabilities.
We’ve been impressed with Broadway Plus , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My ability to take risks, embrace change quickly, and always remain optimistic about the outcomes. In order to start a business at 26 years old, overcome the obstacles of its early days, get through COVID, and keep expanding, I’ve always had to stay focused on the future and believe in the decisions I’m making. I’m always thinking about the future and how great it will be if things work out right. I don’t worry about the past or the precedent. I just try to think “what if…” and then take steps to make that vision a reality.
