Today we’d like to introduce you to Monte Reyment.
Hi Monte , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been wired for entrepreneurship and leadership, but my journey into real estate wasn’t a straight shot. I started out in a career where I helped young athletes use sports to fund their education, which fueled my passion for guiding people toward success. That career became more corporate than I had liked and I began to burn out trying to climb the corporate ladder. I have always had a problem solver’s, value driven mentality and deep down, I knew I wanted to build something of my own—something that made a lasting impact.
I started by diving into real estate investing, learning the ins and outs of buying, selling, and what makes a great deal. From there, I got my real estate license, and like a lot of new agents, I had to grind. I saw firsthand why so many struggle in this business—lack of consistency, poor habits, and the fear of rejection. But instead of getting stuck, I studied what worked, leaned into building relationships, and focused on providing real value.
That’s what led me to launch Take Action Realty Group—a brokerage built on gratitude, giving back, and doing things differently. I didn’t just want to sell homes; I wanted to build a community of agents who actually thrived, who weren’t just chasing the next deal but creating a sustainable business. Along the way, I expanded into real estate investing, event rentals, and even e-commerce, always looking for ways to grow and create new opportunities. Now, my focus is scaling the brokerage, mentoring agents, and helping others break through the same struggles I faced early on. Because at the end of the day, success in real estate—and in life—is about taking action.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road—anyone who’s built something from the ground up knows that’s not how it works. Real estate, like any business, is full of highs and lows, and I’ve had my share of both.
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating partnerships—when you go into business with someone, you assume you’re aligned, but over time, visions can shift. I’ve had to go through tough breakups with business partners, which meant restructuring, rebuilding, and, in some cases, starting over. Those experiences taught me a lot about clarity, communication, and making sure that everyone involved shares the same long-term goals. It’s never easy, but sometimes, letting go of the wrong partnerships is the only way to make room for the right opportunities.
Then there’s the housing market itself—this industry is constantly evolving. I’ve had to adapt through wild market swings, skyrocketing interest rates, inventory shortages, and economic shifts that completely change how we do business. There have been moments when deals dried up, agents struggled, and it felt like everything was an uphill battle. But I’ve learned that the key to surviving in real estate isn’t predicting the market—it’s pivoting quickly and staying consistent when others panic.
Beyond that, building a brokerage has come with its own struggles—getting agents to commit to real work, handling difficult hires and team dynamics, and balancing growth while staying true to our mission. There have been times when I felt like I was carrying the whole thing on my back, but every challenge has reinforced why I do this. The hard days make the wins even more rewarding. You can’t control the market, other people, or unexpected obstacles—but you can control how you show up every day. And that’s been my mindset through every struggle: keep moving, keep learning, and take action.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer in constant learning and self-improvement, and a few books, podcasts, and tools have really helped shape the way I work and live.
Recently, I read “Buy Back Your Time” by Dan Martell, “Day Trading Attention” by Gary Vee, and “Let Them” by Mel Robbins.” Buy Back Your Time was a game-changer for me—learning how to delegate and structure my time to focus on high-value work has been huge for scaling my business. Gary Vee’s “Day Trading Attention” reinforced what I already believe—attention is the new currency, and if you’re not adapting to how people consume content, you’re falling behind. And “Let Them” by Mel Robbins was a powerful reminder about letting go of control and focusing on what really matters instead of fighting battles that aren’t worth my energy.
For podcasts, I follow Gary Vee’s “Audio Experience” for mindset shifting, branding and business strategy. Whenever I need a slap back to reality Gary does an amazing job of doing that. Wisconsin Investors Podcast by Corey Reyment, a shameless plug for my brother’s podcast for real estate investing insights, and Ed Mylett for mindset and high-performance habits. And for tools, I rely on WhatsApp for team communication, Chatgpt and Canva for quick branding and content creation.
