Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Camp
Hi Lydia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Iowa but I like to call Memphis, Tennessee my since I was there a larger part of my life. I honesty give all credit to God. I use to try to look back and see where my ambition, dreams, and visions came from but truly they gave from God. With God, I used my talents and discipline to make goals and reach them. Truly, I was always a motivated child and knew what I wanted my life to look like. I ran into obstacles and struggles yet my ambition was key to me never giving up.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? I wish. But I am actually truly grateful for my obstacles and roadblocks. I have dealt things such as my parents divorcing, mental health struggles, and financially difficulties. It was my roadblocks and obstacles that motivated me and pushed me to where I am today.
Social media comparisons played a huge role in magnifying my struggles. A lot of people portray to the world their life is perfect and without struggle but sometimes that is simply not true. After praying, therapy, and self realization I was able to pull myself out of a dark place and find Gods Light and happiness.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about B. Carter Clothing ?
I started a clothing line exclusive to baby boys and toddler boys after I had my son in 2022. I would always search for affordable and quality clothes for my son but it was like a needle in a haystack. I wanted a quality and minimal look. I like fire trucks and dinosaurs for my son but I always wanted a minimal style look and that was hardly ever accessible. I am proud of the quality of my clothes I sell and always keep customers in mind. B. Carter Clothing will be launching October 2024 with sizes and styles ranging from newborn to 6T. Super excited to get feedback and grow. www.bcarterclothing.com
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I am still new to the entrepreneur life but it is honestly about discipline and consistency. You have to have the discipline to do things when you do not want to and be consistent even when you are tired. Be passionate about your work and embrace continuous learning. Hebrews 12:11 tells us for the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
