Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Solana
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2014 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and used cannabis to heal. I have always used cannabis for anxiety, but the real medical value came when I was diagnosed. I became very passionate about the plant and when I heard that I may be able to help others by opening a cannabis dispensary, there was no holding me back. I immediately started the process of getting licensed, which I thought would be the hard part. I was very wrong. I couldn’t find a location that was zoned in my area.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not a smooth road at all! One morning I found a place on rt 46 in Elmwood park that I thought would be perfect. It was not zoned but was in a commercial area. It took me two and a half years of paying rent on an empty space and lobbying the town. I was at every mayor and council/planning board meeting. I was able to get the ordinance changed to allow Micro license, change the zoning and the school distances. This was a very stressful and almost impossible. But i persevered even though most family and friends though I was crazy for believing in this space. Then I needed the state approval and that took another two months.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
CannaVibes is my passion, “My parents are both 100% Cuban. My dad left Cuba on a raft and joined the army when he arrived in the States. He sent for my mom and older sister shortly after that. We were poor but happy. My parents owned a deli; that’s where I got the motivation to succeed.” I’m known for my kindness, I am a healer, I want to help people with the knowledge I have gained from surviving Colon Cancer. My dispensary has a vibe and you feel like family as soon as you step through my doors. We carry many brands, but Illicit brand cannabis is our favorite. The brand offers many variations of cannabis and it is our best seller and our clients love it and come back for more. We have more strains than other dispensaries in the area.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My honesty and kindness. My ability to help others. I grew up with nothing, very poor, so I try to support everyone in anyway that I can. Since I opened CannaVibes, I have helped many clients with pain and helping them sleep. They come back so happy. They will be our clients for life. We have exceptional customer service and everyone who walks in feels the love!
