Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Gethers
Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Love Harder is a compilation of all the things I enjoy doing: teaching, helping others, and having fun. It all started with an obstacle course focused on teamwork, trust, and communication. I created the obstacle course to help couples identify areas they need to grow within their relationship. Why? I found that couples were having difficulties and were not ready to go to counseling, but they wanted to improve their relationship. Therefore, hearing a need, I decided to create a solution and sought to create something interactive and non-threatening.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth, but I never expected it to be. I had never seen someone do the work that I was doing. Therefore, I made mistakes along the way that cost time and money. I had to show myself grace in those moments, write down the lessons learned, and brainstorm ways to prevent those errors in the future. Another obstacle was the need for more resources. Hosting events requires renting spaces, marketing the event to attract attendees, and providing the necessary supplies and equipment. Starting out, I didn’t have the most beautiful signage or the most attractive facilities, but I had a heart and sheer determination.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Love Harder Marriage Coaching equips couples with the tools they need so their relationship succeeds. We do so through workshops, conferences, written resources, and one-on-one coaching. I specialize in conflict resolution and created the “How to Fight Fair” Couples Conflict Resolution workshop. This interactive boxing workshop is where couples go through five rounds of conflict resolution. I am most proud of our non-profit branch, Love Harder Ministries, and the work we do within our community, such as our annual Family Field Day and our yearly Relationship Conference. I want every reader to know that healthy people can enter healthy relationships and create healthy families. We at Love Harder have the tips, tools, and techniques to help you thrive within your relationship.
How do you think about luck?
Luck did not play a role in my life or business. Obedience has opened the door for me to do the work that I am blessed to do. As I prayed and sought solutions for the issues I saw impacting relationships, I felt as though God was leading me to become a marriage coach. I received my certification as a marriage coach, and then I began creating workshops, hosting conferences, and developing tools and resources.
