Today we’d like to introduce you to Karryl Durr

Hi Karryl, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I grew up in North Baton Rouge, LA. I have always had the enthusiasm, and the mind set to help people in my community, the City of Baton Rouge, and surrounding areas to become the best version of themselves. I produced the idea of becoming a Certified Etiquette Consultant, so I knew I had to get the required certification and credentials to help develop individuals as they grow and flourish in everyday life situations and most importantly having respectable social skills. I knew this was worthwhile because of the results from developing individuals, sharing the importance of proper etiquette, and receiving positive feedback from individuals, parents, families, churches, colleges, universities, and the community was amazing. I felt this would work due to the need in our community, city as well as our country.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

My career as a certified etiquette consultant has been a rewarding and worthwhile experience that has helped me develop people into their best selves, as well as helping them reach their full potential.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

As an etiquette and social courtesies school, Swann School of Protocol Baton Rouge is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals through its instruction of etiquette and social courtesy. A wide range of etiquette courses, classes, seminars, and workshops are offered for children, teens, college students, and adults as well. Hands-on and virtual etiquette courses are available at the etiquette school to help people improve their social skills and professional image.
My specialty is providing clients with a fresh, modern approach to everyday manners that is based on etiquette principles and techniques. It gives me great pleasure also to be of service to individuals, businesses, universities, and professional organizations by sharing my expertise with them.

It is my sincere belief that an individual’s personal responsibility plays an extremely important role in his/her well-being, which is why my service is geared towards enhancing self-esteem and character, as well as focusing on socially acceptable behavior. My passion for etiquette stems from my desire to help people be thoughtful about their conduct, feelings, and rights of others in the way that they conduct themselves. I believe in always promoting kindness, consideration, and humility.

The Swann School of Protocol Baton Rouge has specialized training in various areas of etiquette such as: business, dining, children, teen, college readiness, adult, self- presentation, communication, leadership, social media, workplace, networking and much more.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?

I have dedicated my career to the etiquette industry, utilizing my educational background and over 20 years of experience in education and training. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure Services from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA and a Master of Management from the University of Phoenix, I have acquired a diverse skill set that allows me to effectively assist individuals in their personal and professional development.

My hands-on experience has been invaluable in honing my ability to connect with people and create positive learning environments. Throughout my career, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills that enable me to effectively work with both youth and adults. I am passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential and thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Combining my academic qualifications with my practical experience, I am well-equipped to provide guidance and support in various areas, including etiquette, social skills, and personal growth. I am dedicated to promoting positive change and empowering individuals to succeed in their personal and professional endeavors.

In summary, my educational background, coupled with my extensive experience, has equipped me with the expertise and skills necessary to assist individuals in their personal and professional development. I am committed to creating a positive and enriching learning experience for all those I work with.
