Hi Haley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up playing competitive sports and was a college athlete; my experiences in athletics instilled the importance of hard work, persistence, and teamwork. After college, these values carried over into my career as I worked for several startups. I was captivated by the excitement of getting businesses off the ground and knew that entrepreneurship was the path I wanted to pursue.
I launched my first business, Earth Air, a cannabis lifestyle brand, and quickly noticed the male-dominated nature of the industry. This observation led me to found the Maine Women’s Connection, a nonprofit focused on uplifting women in my community. Throughout my ventures, I noticed a gap in services surrounding holistic-preventive health.
This ultimately led me to discover my true purpose with my most recent business, Elevate Mushrooms. Elevate is a functional mushroom supplement brand focused on high-quality, locally sourced products that help people live their best lives. Mushrooms have been a game changer for my mental health; after struggling with anxiety, focus, and insomnia for years, I finally found a natural product that helped me become my best self. Believing in what you sell is essential, and I take pride in offering products that make a real impact on the many challenges faced by people in today’s society.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think business is ever a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the unpredictability of the market—especially with the current economy and rapid technological changes. I haven’t always been able to foresee market trends, but this has taught me how crucial it is to be prepared, adapt quickly, and stay ahead to remain competitive.

When reflecting on Elevate and what it means to me, it goes right back to the name of our business. We want to help lift people to achieve their potential in all aspects of life. Our products have personally helped me achieve goals that I previously never thought possible, and I want to share them with the masses to help them do the same.

I enjoy the School of Mentors app, a virtual community for entrepreneurs. They offer Q&A sessions with successful entrepreneurs and provide valuable content on sales, marketing, leadership, scaling, and more. It’s a great resource, and I appreciate hearing other entrepreneurs share their stories. While experience is the best teacher, learning from others gives me a valuable advantage.
