Today we’d like to introduce you to Eila Algood

Hi Eila, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

In 1988, two weeks after my mom died from a long cancer illness, I said to my 3 year old daughter Kristin “I miss Grandma Jane today”. Her innocent little voice replied from the back seat of my car “why mommy, she’s right there.” I slowly pulled the minivan over to the side of the road and gently turned around and said “what do you mean, Honey?” Kristin pointed to the passenger seat and said “she’s there, holding your hand.” I got full body chills. Over the next couple of years, Kristin would announce when Grandma was in the room or the car or walking with us outside. As for me, I saw, felt, heard absolutely nothing. And so began my quest to take a deep dive into the metaphysical world of energy and unseen forces.
A few years later, I found a school, Psychic Studies Institute located then in Schenectady, New York, just a 30 minute drive from home. I attended the weekly classes that ran 25 – 30 weeks. I completed levels 1, 2 &3. In my enthusiasm to share the wonderful experiences, I chose to take their teacher training course and taught level 1, 2 and 4 (trance mediumship). I had many deep and meaningful experiences in those classes, which included a seance. I finally could feel, hear my mom and the unexpected part for me was that I came to really know myself.
I came to realize, after being married to my husband for 17 years; having created a big life with children, pets, family and friends, that I was attracted to women. Many prophetic dreams helped me to navigate that tumultuous time. By 2000 I was divorced and walked with my new love, Britt, to death’s door. She entered and I had to begin again.
In 2001, I began a new loving life with Holly and my focus was on leadership. Together we got involved with LGBT issues and other forms of activism.
In 2008, while on vacation in Hawaii, we made the bold decision to move to Hawaii and sell our home in Connecticut. I had lived in NY for 41 years and Connecticut for 7 so it was a very big decision. Our focus in Hawaii was in building a sustainable home, off-grid meaning solar panels on the roof, a windmill and batteries. No cable lines for communication or electricity. We also began planting hundreds of thousands of little trees on the barren landscape. It was a lot of work but very rewarding as those baby trees are now 30 feet tall or more.
In 2018, I received a cancer diagnosis which I took as a very large wake up call. I left the farm work and dove back into the invisible world. I put together an online psychic development curriculum and created many videos. It was a lot of work and I did not feel it was catching on. Then COVID. I kept with making short videos to inspire folks, but let go of teaching.
It was 2021 when Holly and I traded our Connecticut rental property for a local commercial property in town. With it came a bunch of retail display cases. Over the next year, I contemplated and asked Spirit for guidance. I was not too interested in selling stuff as a retail store until I had the idea for a Metaphysical store with sound healing items, plus crystals, plus channeled books, plus jewelry and any other items that could help a person Raise Their Vibration. I opened the store officially 11/12/22 and it’s been an absolute joy.
I measure my days there by how many times I experience “full body chills” or “goosebumps”. I have many deep and meaningful moments with people from my community as well as travelers. I share love, laughter, tears and hopefully some words of wisdom. The store continues to evolve as most of what I do there comes to me through my intuition.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

The biggest challenge was in getting started at something that other people may have viewed as weird or woo-woo. Once I embraced the woo-woo and let go of wanting any kind of approval, it got easier.
Running the business is a balance of intuition and intellect.

We’ve been impressed with Raise Your Vibration, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s begin with what I am most proud of. Many people come in and comment on the high vibes they feel; the peace and positivity. It’s the energy of this business that keeps me engaged. I am filling a need with Raise Your Vibration and will keep with it as long as I feel it is needed and wanted. With that said, this isn’t about me, I’m a catalyst or a channel for the love people already have within themselves. They come into the store and connect more deeply with themselves. That sets us apart from other retail stores selling similar merchandise. At Raise Your Vibration, we provide an experience where a person can feel lifted up and that doesn’t cost money. In fact, that is priceless.
Merchandise in the store is meant to provide a tool for folks to bring up their own vibration as they go on about their lives. Maybe they buy a $2 crystal to keep in their pocket or a $3000 amethyst cathedral to put in their home. Perhaps the sound healing of a Native American hand drum or crystal singing bowl is what their spirit needs today with a beautiful rhodochrosite bracelet made by my wife for them to wear. We guide them to what their intuition tells them will be best for them.
We currently have the Spooky2 Scalar device set up for people to sit in on the weekends. It provides a 5th dimensional scalar field that can help a person’s body heal itself. There is no fee and we have a contribution basket available.
We have a trance channeler who we will host at Channel and Chow. We’ll be trying another new event called Psychic Fair Friday Night to stir up some fun in our small town of Hawi.
We specialize in connecting with those who come through the door and are seeking a deeper experience. Although I began this business, it’s with the support and input of my wife, Holly Algood and the commitment of team member Adrienne Van Berg that helps it to continue to grow and evolve. I see this business as a co-creation with all who contribute their energy in some way as workers, shoppers, visitors, friends and energetic supporters.

What’s next?

We have been following the guidance of the universe in the hopes of bringing an Energy Enhancement System into the store which is a bit more elaborate that the current Spooky2 Scalar device. Here is an explanation of the EESystem from the UNIFYD Healing website:
The Energy Enhancement System (EESystem) generates multiple bio-active life enhancing energy fields, including “scalar waves” which can allow cell regeneration, improve immune function, provide relief from pain, detoxify the body, elevate moods, and assist in balancing right and left hemispheres of the brain to increase energy levels.
That would require us to rearrange the space to install the EESystem and set up an appointment system.
I have had some people ask me to mentor them in opening their own metaphysical store, so we will see where that goes. My big vision is to open more stores, offering more people the deep and meaningful experiences we’ve all shared.
