Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlyn Stephenson

Hi Caitlyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

Hi I am Caitlyn Stephenson the proud owner and lead esthetician at Esthetics By Cati located in Lewiston NY!
I specialize in Result Driven Medical Esthetics with a focus on Acne, Age Management, and Pigmentation. My journey began with an internship offer from a well-known streaming network, where I was set to do makeup on film sets. However, I decided to pursue esthetics school, where I discovered a deep passion for skincare. Just one month after graduating, I started taking skincare clients out of the back of a hair salon. Now, almost three years later, I’m on my third location, have built a team, and am currently on the lookout for a larger space to continue growing my business! At just 24 years old I feel like I’ve lived 14 lives, but incredibly grateful for every aspect of my journey!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges have been valuable in shaping my growth. Starting out, I faced the uncertainty of building a clientele from scratch, especially while working out of a loud hair salon. There were moments of self-doubt, wondering if I had made the right choice by leaving behind the opportunity in makeup artistry to pursue esthetics. Balancing the demands of running a business and providing high-quality services to my clients was also a steep learning curve.

As my business grew, finding the right team and the perfect location became crucial, but not without its difficulties. Each move to a new location brought its own set of challenges, from logistical issues to the pressure of maintaining client satisfaction during transitions. Despite these struggles, each hurdle taught me valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my passion for skincare!

At Esthetics By Cati our mission is to provide safe, quality, Medical Results driven treatments, while enhancing your skins natural health and wellbeing!

Everything we do and everything we create is based on what we believe in, That helping others look beautiful is nice but helping them believe they are beautiful is life changing.

Happiness is contagious ,and with enough courage, creativity and optimism you actually can have your cake and eat it too.

I believe Self-love is the best love and strive to enhance the beauty and confidence in our clients one step at a time.

I believe that skincare is not a one size fits all, all of our treatments are 100% custom to your specific skin concerns! We love to pair results with relaxation as transforming your skin doesn’t need to be so quick and a cold experience!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?

I believe that taking risks is an essential part of growth, both personally and professionally. To me, risks are opportunities in disguise—they push you out of your comfort zone and force you to adapt, learn, and evolve. I wouldn’t say I’m naturally inclined to take risks, but I’ve come to realize that the biggest rewards often come from stepping into the unknown.

One of the major risks I took was deciding to pivot from being a full time actor to esthetics. I had an incredible opportunity with a popular streaming network to work in the makeup department, but something told me that my passion laid elsewhere. Leaving that opportunity behind to attend esthetics school felt like a huge gamble, especially without knowing exactly where it would lead. However, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Another significant risk was starting my skincare business just a month after graduating. I had no established client base, and I was working out of the back of a very loud hair salon. It was a leap of faith, but I was determined to follow my passion. The early days were challenging, but each step forward validated that risk.

Looking back, these risks have been pivotal in getting me to where I am today. My approach to risk-taking is rooted in a deep trust in my instincts and a belief that even if things don’t go as planned, there’s always something valuable to learn from the experience.
