We asked entrepreneurs, artists, creatives and folks from every walk of life to share stories of kindness with us because we believe that hearing about kindness inspires more kindness. Our world needs more kindness.

A couple years after I co-founded Oquirrh West Project, my business partner found herself in circumstances that required her to move out of state. As we discussed what this would mean for OWP, she asked if I wanted to become the Artistic Director, which eventually led to me taking over the company. My first season as an Artistic Director without her had many mountains to climb and I faced multiple challenges as I worked hard to progress the company, it’s mission, and it’s future. Read more>>

“How bad of an idea would it be to take a year out of school and go on tour”? I asked. “Actually, I think it could be very good for you.” he replied with his usual bright, cheerful tone. Dr. Robison, one of my main music school professors, seemed to understand my entrepreneurial spirit and never seemed afraid to take a risk. The 12 months that followed would stretch and challenge me in ways I never knew possible and make me face parts of myself I didn’t necessarily want to acknowledge. Ultimately, I would become a better artist and musician, a more responsible human, and smarter businessperson. Read more>>

A woman came up to the booth at the Little Italy Holiday Market – it was the first market we’d ever done exactly a year before – and told me she was one of my OG customers. I used to deliver to her every week during the pandemic. Not gonna lie, I teared up when she told me she’d been following me from the start and was so proud of how the business had grown. Read more>>

The kindest thing someone has ever done for me is listening. The world is loud, and it is refreshing to glance at a person’s eyes while speaking and knowing they are actively listening to you. Active listening is the basis for creating safe spaces. Read more>>

In high school, the members of Echidna Cone Productions took a video production course at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center. The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was to believe in me and my vision. Well, they didn’t believe right off lol. It took a little convincing because when I initially presented my vision to them; I got a big fat “No, that’ll never work”. I couldn’t believe they said “No”. I was crushed and walked away heartbroken, but not giving up. I truly believed that I had the ability to change their mind. I just had to approach them from a different perspective. Read more>>

The Kindest thing I’ve ever done for someone was give them my last while I was going through my own troubles. Well to be honest I didn’t have it to give away but with me being spiritual & loving God I always choose to do the right thing. I was in line at the gas station & I saw a homeless person who I’ve walked past a couple of times. I didn’t know if she had the money to pay for her stuff but i offered to buy everything plus any other items she needed. It was also a child in line so I decided to get his as well. Read more>>

I believe the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me is being patience with me & giving me a chance. I say that because folks don’t have to do that at all, just because we’d all like common respect an courtesy, does not mean it will be given to us. So i really believe folks that showed me that type of kindness are the realist folks i’ve known. From strangers to close friends, Even if we no longer speak, i love an appreciate that energy you gave me because it did help me in the long run. I hope to pay it forward, I give thanks. Read more>>
