As a result of COVID, I had to shift from planning in-person events to virtual and hybrid ones. It was necessary to learn about new platforms to convert existing events into virtual ones and still create a connected experience. I will continue to offer planning services for in-person, hybrid and virtual events. The versatility enables my clients to offer their events to more people and removes the boundaries of a physical location. Read more>>

Before covid as family mediators we pretty much always met with our clients in person and although we offered online mediation very few clients took us up on that. Then in March of 2020 we switched everything to online and conducted all of our mediations virtually as most industries had to. While we are offering limited in person meetings we find that clients are still primarily wanting to meet virtually for many reasons and plan to incorporate in person, virtual and even hybrid mediation meetings moving forward, which is not something we had intended to do prior to Covid. Covid may have actually been what truly created this business and turned it into what it is today. From there, the lightbulb went off and my husband convinced me that this would be a great business model for us. For me the remote aspect of being an ‘e-designer’ is incredibly exciting. I had experienced it during a short stint working for a Silicon Valley tech start-up prior to the the pandemic, and this is where I fell in love with the technology behind being a primarily online designer. Being able to design inside a client’s actual space in 3D and produce such gorgeous, photorealistic renderings is a no-brainer approach to selling a design idea. So, during the pandemic, I did a ton of research, a ton of networking, and expanded my business to be able to offer this kind of service to clients on my own. Read more>>

Interior design is traditionally an in-person service. As a designer I spend a lot of time in my clients’ homes, meeting with vendors and contractors on job sites. Covid changed everything.
