There were several things that contributed to the start of my own company. The main factor was that I wanted to create a environment for veterans to grow and have a sense of belonging returned to them. The work is important and meaningful while simultaneously helping Americans who use our services. It started like a snowball effect. The places I worked began meaningfully and were engaging, but as time went on, the management, processes, and work environment was becoming bogged down in unnecessary processes, employee resentment, a disconnect from the admin versus the field and front desk. I have worked several places, each with its challenges, and some of those challenges were oddly similar. The largest affront was how they dealt with someone voicing a complaint or discrepancy. The idea of being able to work for myself, to set my own schedule, and make my own decisions were some of the reasons I wanted to become a dentist in the first place. So, I always had it in mind to start my own office because you can really only do those things as the business owner. And I come from a family that has experience with real estate, so the goal was to find a space that we could purchase instead of lease. Read more>>

In starting Impact Counseling Services where we see induvial, couples, and people dealing with the many challenges we as people face in ones day to day life, I knew starting a practice was a necessary thing that I needed to do when I saw the service delivery being administered regularly, I saw too many examples of people going to therapy and not learning, growing, or moving forward in their therapy experience, I felt the frustration of the clients and sought to give people another option, Read more>>

My name is Aimee Frisk, and I’m the founder of Twin Peaks Therapy. My journey into this work began when I started supporting women through various stages of their breast cancer journeys. While working in a hospital setting, I was approached by several post-mastectomy clients seeking help with their recovery. It became clear that this was a specialized area of care that required a delicate and informed approach—something not widely available near me. After researching treatment options and finding no practitioners nearby who could meet these needs, I discovered an inspiring Occupational Therapist from Australia—a true pioneer in the field.
