We’ve been blown away by the examples of generosity and kindness that are at the heart of so many brands in the community. We asked some of the most giving entrepreneurs and leaders we know to tell us about how they think about the practice of donating a percentage of sales.

The Kansas City Fisher House is a home away from home for veterans and their families that are receiving medical care in the Kansas City area. This organization is very close to my heart as it provides the warmth of home in the midst of medical challenges for our military community. I have chosen to give my time and donations to this organization. Read more>>

We’ve always donated a portion of our sales to various organizations and causes throughout the years. Now that our own Non-profit, G.L.O.B.E. (Global Leadership Opportunity for Black Education), has officially gained it’s tax-exempt status, we’ll be focusing heavily on getting this organization off the ground. A couple of our goals focus on providing grants, scholarships or financial assistance to young African Americans looking to expand their education through study abroad programs. We’re excited about the program and looking to gain a lot of traction over the next few years. Read more>>

Giving back in the world of wine is ingrained in the culture. One of the things I have focused on from early on is giving back to veteran focused non-profits that my people and I care about. Giving back allows us to stay humble and remember there is a greater purpose behind what we do. Especially with something like wine, everyone who had a hand in production believe it is a gift meant to be shared. From the farmer who grows the grapes to the winemaker and team marketing the wine, everyone believes in the product they produce and believe it should be shared for the maximum amount of enjoyment by others. I am currently planning a raffle that will benefit Alzheimer’s and Dementia research. This cause is close to my heart as I had two grandparents to suffer from this disease. My grandmother passed away earlier this year and my grandfather has been gone for 13 years now. This disease takes a toll on the whole family when a member is diagnosed. Being able to help in some small way to help researchers and doctors better understand and possibly fight this disease, I think, would make them both proud. Read more>>

Join us in our October fundraiser for Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation- for their Microgreen Program. Libby’s Legacy Microgreen Program grows and delivers microgreens to breast cancer survivors. They also teach survivors how to grow their own microgreens. The goals for our fundraiser are to raise enough money to sponsor one of these classes, to help with delivery fees, and to help with additional supplies to keep the program running. On top of the donations we receive, a portion of our proceeds for the month of October is going towards this fundraiser. Read more>>

We are very passionate about the youth and our scholarship fund is one way we give back to the community. To qualify for the scholarship, the student has to be a high school senior with a 2.5 GPA and they have to show proof of enrollment. We provide an essay prompt and we decide based on the best essay. We normally release a new prompt in January. Read more>>

Four times throughout the year I have a day of themed mini-sessions. These are considerably lower cost than a normal session, and therefore give everyone a chance to get photos of their pets, something I believe is very important. My summer minis are always a fundraiser for a different charity. The first year I did it I supported a local charity whose building had been extremely damaged by the 2020 tornado that hit downtown Nashville. Last year I donated to a local group that works with the Black Lives Matter movement. Read more>>

A huge part of my mission or purpose with my brand is to pay it forward. I believe in being a blessing to others, being the gift that keeps on giving. This is why my logo is the infinity logo. What you put out will continue to come back to you. When you give a blessing you in return receive a blessing. While on my business entrepreneur journey, I kept saying to myself “all these business expenses are starting to add up.” When you start a clothing brand, you think all you need are some shirts and a printer. At Flor Keeps, we currently donate a portion of our proceeds to an Austin-based non-profit organization called WellAware. WellAware implements lasting clean water systems to drive development and empower communities in East Africa. We wanted to contribute to a cause that not only helps people in need but also makes sense for our brand to collaborate with. Our flowers at Flor Keeps don’t require water, but people do. The techniques we use to extend the lifetime of our product go hand in hand with water conservation. Therefore, we are able to create an initiative to help those that really do need this resource.
