As a business owner it’s easy to feel like your work is never done – because no matter how much you do, there is always more that could theoretically be done. Many business owners we’ve spoken with also feel that they have a responsibility to be available to their team and that if they step away they are putting an undue burden on their team. So, we wanted to hear from a broad range of business owners on whether they take vacations and we’ve shared some of their responses below.

Working in an industry that demands 12-hour workdays on projects spanning over 15 months, I’ve come to realize the significance of taking breaks. It’s not just about the work environment but also about the city I reside in: Los Angeles. Yes we take vacations every year. Some are longer vacations and some are weekend getaways. We travel full time in our RV across the country for my husband’s job. We’ve been to 23 states so far. Whenever we get to a new location, we try our best to vacation to surrounding states, along with our annual trips we go on each year. I feel like you need to make time for not only yourself, but your family too. You never know when it is your time to go, so make the best of it while you can. Read more>>

In this field i’m able to work and be on vacation. It’s a passion that crosses over very smoothly. I’m typically in the night life scene so sometimes a vacation is just being home and sleeping a good amount and doing nothing. I still love to travel and definitely can’t wait to do a few things this year. I plan on visiting a few places near and far and taking my son and daughter on some surprise trips to some pretty special places. I really want to teach them some new things. Read more>>

Not only do I take vacations, I try to take at least three of them a year. During the slow season I love taking month long road trips and adventures around the world.
