As a business owner it’s easy to feel like your work is never done – because no matter how much you do, there is always more that could theoretically be done. Many business owners we’ve spoken with also feel that they have a responsibility to be available to their team and that if they step away they are putting an undue burden on their team. So, we wanted to hear from a broad range of business owners on whether they take vacations and we’ve shared some of their responses below.

Vacations are essential to knowing oneself. Whether about the country, abroad or right in your own local areas back yard it is truly one of the best things we can do. I enjoy traveling solo, with my husband and the occasional family trip. All are important to me. One of the best trips I’ve ever taken was a gift from my husband to travel solo across Europe by train one summer. I developed a sense of direction on that trip, one that I’d never had before. Traveling is one of my greatest loves. It has been from the time I was a small child. Every summer my family would take huge road trips. Driving from our small town in the Southwest Missouri to destinations all throughout Canada. I love seeing and experiencing new places and meeting people whom I never would have known had I stayed home. . In my opinion, When you are in a creative industry, Changing up your environment can really help with the creative process. In the winter of 2021 to 2022 I went on a lengthy road trip with a bed in the back of my van and traveled throughout the United States and to some Caribbean islands. Covid had shut down the entertainment industry at the time in Canada so I was out of work and I decided to use that time to travel and Network with musicians around the world. Read more>>
