So, we wanted to hear from a broad range of business owners on whether they take vacations and we’ve shared some of their responses below.

I run a business that consists of assisting my clients with moving from one place to another. This includes introducing them the right Realtor or Realtors that will be best for their personal needs of when it comes down to buying and/or selling a home; where I utilize my background as a Realtor myself here. Also, since I’ve moved 30 times in my life; I’m definitely more than qualified to provide any moving-related advice that a client of mine might have for me. I’ve done moves where either I move to a different place in the same city or I have a long distance move; to where I move over 1,000 miles from where I’m living now. There are people out there that haven’t moved much or even; haven’t moved at all and moving can be overwhelming. Read more>>

Before I hired a virtual assistant, I felt like I was tied to my business 24/7. Taking a vacation meant bringing my work with me or spending the whole time worrying about what I’d come back to. I had been telling everyone about the power of delegation, but I hadn’t yet taken that step myself because I felt like, as a CEO, I had to do it all. But after hiring a VA, everything changed. I was able to take my first real vacation to Cancun, and then another to New York City, and truly disconnect. It was a game-changer for my mental health and the growth of my business. I realized I didn’t have to do everything on my own and that delegating could open up new opportunities both personally and professionally. As a business owner, keeping things going while stepping away can seem daunting, but it’s all about building trust and delegating effectively. My advice to entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t take a short vacation is to start by finding a virtual assistant (VA) you truly trust. This trust is crucial because you’ll need to hand over sensitive information like passwords and the ability to communicate with your clients. Read more>>

Absolutely. Taking breaks from the day to day is essential for our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I always find myself most inspired when I travel. However, I should probably differentiate between travel and vacation, they are very different, but both equally important. A vacation can be a quick jaunt to the desert or the coast, or even a staycation/daycation can give you that pause, or disconnect that you need. I actually find vacations easier as an entrepreneur, I found an inability to truly disconnect in corporate America – I would see folks working through their vacations bc of various ‘urgent’ matters (insert eye roll). I think my burnout is showing ;) Read more>>

Yes. Yes. 1000 times, yes. I feel like it’s needed as a business owner to take vacations. Many times we as business owners are on the grind trying to build our businesses, answer as quickly as we can to emails, serve clients or customers, post and build our social media (which is job in itself) while leaving the things and people are most important on the back burner. I often lean more towards the “workaholic” and I’m often reminded by family and friends to STOP and take a break. Read more>>

Absolutely, taking vacations is essential, especially for content creators/ business owners juggling multiple responsibilities and wearing multiple hats. Celebrating even small wins is crucial for maintaining balance. Travel is my way of disconnecting from daily routines; even a weekend away can provide a much-needed reset. Stepping back allows you to return with fresh perspectives and renewed energy. Remember, your work will still be there when you get back. Prioritize your well-being and create lasting memories now, after all, you’ve earned it! Embrace the idea that if you work hard, you should also make time to play harder . I genuinely look forward to my vacations. Read more>>
