Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Bass

Hi Whitney , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

My story began in high school. I was a freshman trying to find my way as most do & instead of finding my true self I found myself trying be someone who I thought I wanted to be. This lead me down a path of perfectionism & people pleasing that ultimately landed me in a treatment facility for an eating disorder. I learned so much on that journey that has continued to help me uncover hidden strengths that still serve me in both my career & personal life today. As a result, currently I run two, about to be three, successful businesses, am a mom to two amazing boys, have a strong faith & a core group of supporters I’m blessed to be surrounded by.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Are there any smooth roads? Ha! It has definitely not been a paved road over the last almost twenty years in business but each bump has taught me so much & a different way to navigate the next one. Whether the struggle has been growing my clientele, having to course correct due to illness, balancing becoming a mother & a business owner or trying to learn the latest social media platform to grow my reach, each struggle has elevated my knowledge to ultimately be able to share with the next person who might be trying to cruise through the same. It’s not always easy to see when you’re in it but there truly is always purpose in the hard path.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I own W.Bass Bridal which is an on site bridal hair company that specializes in elegant styling for your wedding day! I currently have a team of five artists who help style hair for brides & their bridal parties on their big days. We bring the salon setup to you on your day so there’s no stress in having to run around on what should be a fun & relaxing morning. We specialize in all types of hair & hairstyles! From all up, to all down to half up, we have you covered! We pride ourselves on staying up to date on the seasons latest trends & being able to deliver the hairstyle of your wedding dreams! We’re always most proud of our over forty five star reviews & our truly grateful every time a past bride or bridesmaid refers us to their newly engaged friend!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?

I currently live in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Mn & I would say the thing I like most about living here is having the best of both worlds. I can drive twenty five minutes out & have the full city life experience of fabulous restaurants, professional sporting events, fancy hotels or wild night life but then in just a few short miles be immersed in the quietness of a more still paced setting. Having that option is a luxury! I think I’ll show my true “midwesterness” by my least like answer which is icy road driving in the winter & summer road construction.
