Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Freyee
Hi Troy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
About 15 years ago, I impulsively bought an inexpensive camera off eBay and decided that very day to become a photographer. With no prior knowledge, I improvised for a few years, working at a talent agency taking headshots. Realizing I wasn’t achieving the results I wanted, I pursued a diploma in Photo Imaging to grasp the technical aspects better. This experience helped me discover my style, and my career started to flourish. Along the way, I met incredible people in the industry, which expanded my network.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definetely hasnt been a smooth road… but in saying that when you have enough passion the bumps and prods dont seem to bother you as much. I think one of the largest struggles would be finding your style and owning it… rather then doing stuff only for money. I realised quickly the more i stand in my style the more people want that which also gave me more confidence over time. I am super grateful for every lesson i have learnt and continue to learn, its a forever learning process.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fashion photographer based in Australia, traveling worldwide to shoot campaigns for various brands. Known for my distinctive style, I aim to capture emotions and genuine moments in my photos. While some campaigns require posed shots, I strive to infuse each pose with a sense of authenticity and depth.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very sociable guy, that guy thats friends with everyone. Always have had a big heart with a lot of passion. My parents are super creative especially my dad, i think thats where i get a lot of my creative mind from.
