Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Ramaci
Hi Tina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our story began with a simple, heartfelt mission: to create the coziest, softest pajamas for little ones while making a meaningful impact on our community. As a mom who knows the importance of comfort and quality, I wanted to provide other parents with pajamas that I would feel proud to dress my own children in.
It all started in my living room, where I began designing and testing fabrics to make a the most comfortable baby headband that doesn’t leave an imprint. After countless cups of coffee and late-night sewing sessions, Tiny Knot Co. was born. With a lot of passion and a dash of mom magic, we launched our first collection in 2021, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
From there, we grew organically, eventually launching our sustainable pajamas. Along the way, we made it our mission to give back: every pajama purchased provides 10 meals to children facing hunger in the US. We’ve also been fortunate to employ stay-at-home moms, giving them the flexibility to work while caring for their families.
Today, Tiny Knot Co. is more than just a pajama brand; it’s a movement towards comfort, sustainability, and community support. We’re proud of our journey and excited for what lies ahead!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely been a journey full of twists and turns! Balancing being a mom, working full-time, and growing Tiny Knot Co. has been quite the juggling act. There were days when I felt like I was trying to do it all, from bedtime stories to business meetings, often wondering if there were enough hours in the day.
One of the biggest challenges has been keeping the motivation up when sales were slow. It’s tough to stay optimistic and focused when you’re not seeing immediate results. Prioritizing tasks that would deliver the best results with a small team and limited time has been a constant struggle. We’ve had to be really strategic about where to put our energy and resources.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
For the past 12 years, I’ve worked in design and product development for apparel, accessories and home, which has been an incredible journey. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside entrepreneurs, helping to launch successful products that make a difference.
I personally design all of our prints, ensuring each piece reflects our unique style and values.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love best about New York City is its vibrant energy and diversity. There’s always something happening and if you have the right connections you can meet some really great people.
What I like least about New York City is probably the hustle and bustle that can sometimes feel overwhelming. The fast pace can make it challenging to find moments of calm and balance, especially when juggling the demands of work, family, and running a business. But despite these challenges, the city’s dynamic spirit makes it an exciting and rewarding place to be.
