Today we’d like to introduce you to Sinead And Mairead Atkinson

Hi Sinead And Mairead, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

We are two sisters who love performing and making magic together! As veteran character performers of ten years and professional stage actors for well over a decade, we specialize in bringing it all: trained vocals, graceful dancing, and high engagement for guests of all ages! Not only have we been seen onstage and at events and parties across Long Island, we have performed in the greater New York area, New England, and even on national television!

We got our start as character performers back in 2014 and haven’t looked back, even expanding our repertoire beyond the typical children’s “Princess” entertainment to include certified freediving mermaid performances, sword fighting, bubbleology, and fast-paced improvisation for weddings, high-end corporate events, Renaissance Faires, and more: we’re not just kids’ entertainers!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Making the transition from being freelance performers to business owners was a tough one, but we knew that this was the path we wanted to take. It took two years of getting all the legalities in place, getting our business licenses, insurance, and certifications up to date, and upgrading our incredible character wardrobe.

We chose to wait to open our business in 2022 after the difficult pandemic years had shuttered many other character businesses, and while it was hard to wait—we were so excited!—we are so grateful for our patience, as it allowed us to hit the ground running already at the highest quality.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

In addition to being trained singers and dancers, we pride ourselves on being able to use skills that many other performers in our industry don’t have, such as:

-freediving certification for mermaid performance
-CPR/AED/First Aid certification for adults, children, and infants
-K-12 classroom experience as Sinead is a NYS-certified teacher, and both Sinead and Mairead are theatrical teaching artists
-stage combat experience
-puppeteering
-bubbleology and the science of bubbles

We are proud to hire and train performers who have a similar drive for excellence and want to expand their already-amazing talents to offer a unique experience for any event.
