1961 Co-Founder of Student Committee For Improvement In Watts (SCFIW) Historic

1974 Mother introduces me to Herbal Healing and herbs
1975-1991 Women Empowerment groups – business, health, relationships, children
1970’s Boy Scouts of America – Area Commissioner and Troup Leader
Girl Scouts and Brownies – Asst Troup Leader
Several Leadership positions– David Starr Jordan High School Alumni Association, Watts CA
Clothing Designer – Simply Sandy Designs and LaTyson Fashions –1965 to present, featured in
several publications and showcased at major Fashion Shows in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills CA.

1982 – 2024 HIV/AIDS advocate and activist, National, Global
1991-1995 Founder of Nu Vision Modeling and Entertainment, Historic, youth runway and role modeling courses, youth entrepreneur classes, community uplift and empowerment, men support group, community center / gathering place
1996 -1999 Men’s Ministry Leader and facilitator of healing
1996 – 2006 Hillside Chapel and International Truth Center, bridged the gap between New Thought religion with holistic healing modalities, ie Reiki, Breath Works, etc. Historic! Conducted non-conventional workshops for community understanding on Domestic Violence and Abuse, HIV/AIDS and held these workshops with a diverse audience of community faith leaders and worshippers combined with the Business community.
2001 Co-Founder and CEO of Keep America Strong Inc, specializing in training and community improvement.
2002 Developed ME-Treats a program geared to the Caregivers of the world.
2003 Pilgrimage to Ghana, West Africa. Developed close knit bonds with the local Africans and continue to communicate, offer support and encouragement. Many have expanded their influence in their respective Villages.
2003 Sisters Share Our Authentic Self, a gathering of 12 Powerhouse Women of Atlanta. Our Intention to create an educational village incorporating the values and customs of our Ancestors along with the input of the youth. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

I always maintained a mindset of abundance of whats is available in this vast world. So many new places, expereinces to have, new ideas to explore with so many untapped avenues of life and living.

Whenever I faced a lack of opportunties I allowed my inquisitve spirit to be freed to think of what was next on my learning journey in life! Never bored because this life has so many opportunities to learn something I had no knowledge of prior. I remain childlike in living and allow that innocence to lead me along this path of life.

There is always something NEW to unravel, forever some undiscovered place to visit, what shall I do next my constant question.

Our perception is what causes us to think in terms of a ‘smooth’ or bumpy road! I pray that I am forever motivated by whats next so that I never have room for lack of experinces or a quest for further knowledge. Each step has been a lesson and blessing in living life to its fullest!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am most proud of how I impact humanity! Throughout my life I have always given and encouraged others to be the best they can be, being their cheerleader as they gather their courage to undertake a new project. Most people simply need to believe in their power to succeed. I graciously give with a Constant Smile of Approval!! I do this for all people, especially the younger folks.

My specialty is being a Creative of Life. From a Clothing Designer to an Author to Creator of Programs to assist others to Serving humanity! Each of these require the skill of seeing the blank canvas and opting to design a useful object for humanity to utilize in fulfilling their life journey.

I am best known for my Smile and Hugs! Believe it or not these are extremely important elements for people. I hear the silent message and advise the person what I heard. The proper term for this skill is ‘listening with a third ear’ and it is a natural gift. I also bring ‘peace’ with me as I venture along in life. I am sought after in times of turmoil and chaos. This is accomplished with family, friends and in professional settings. I can remain calm and centered in times of strife and conflict.

I am known for never meeting a stranger, for always making people feel ‘great’ about themselves. For honoring and recognizing the Spirit in each living being I encounter.

What sets me apart from others is I remain a ‘willing servant’ to humanity. Most of the community programs I have crafted has been to honor those who do not recognize they have a voice and a human right to share their thoughts. To help others value themselves at a deeper level, to truly appreciate who they are without having to earn some special award or degree or anything outside of them.

Any big plans?

My future consists of continuning to be of service to the human community at large. To offer guidance and assistance in whatever style it may require. To encourage people to go and stay outside that proverbial box of limitations.

I look forward to expanding my TV show, The Sandy Rodgers Show, to international markets; continue writing and encouraging conversations on contorversial topics; to provide leadership to communities in new programs; to infuse truth into how we think and relate to one another and to remain an active, vital building elder!! I am pleased with my life accomplishments therefore no big changes are necessary. Simply continue to impact and infect hope for the world community.
