Today we’d like to introduce you to Paras Juneja
Paras, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and brought up in India, and for a long time, it seemed like I was on the path to becoming an engineer. But, in the last stretch of preparing for my engineering entrance exams, I realized my passion lay elsewhere. That’s when I decided to switch lanes and dive into the creative world of animation and design.
I completed my bachelor’s in Animation and Design and then took a big leap by moving to Germany to attend Miami Ad School, where I pursued a Master’s in Advertising. It was an incredible experience, and I planned to work in international advertising agencies. But then COVID happened, and I had to return to India.
Back in India, I worked as a Graphic and Motion Designer for various companies. Those years were crucial for me – I honed my design skills, learned the ins and outs of time management, and got a taste of what it’s like to work in a professional environment. I also took on side projects, which turned out to be quite rewarding. I ended up earning over 40 awards and getting published in the advertising industry, which was amazing.
Now, I’m here in the USA, working as a seasoned Designer. It’s been quite a journey, full of unexpected turns and invaluable lessons.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but honestly, that’s part of what makes the journey so interesting and rewarding. I’ve faced a lot of challenges throughout my career—creative blocks, rejection, criticism, balancing work and life, finding clients, dealing with competition, and so much more.
Each of these challenges has taught me valuable lessons, both in life and professionally. The most important lesson I’ve learned is the importance of taking a break. Sometimes, you just need to step back and relax for a bit. Engaging in activities that completely disconnect your mind from work can make a huge difference. It’s crucial for coping with work stress and maintaining your creativity and motivation.
So, whenever I hit a rough patch or feel overwhelmed, I make sure to give myself some downtime. It’s amazing how much it helps to recharge and come back to work with a fresh perspective.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a Motion Designer and Creative Technologist, I spend my days creating all sorts of visual content, from social media posts and ad designs to billboards and video ads. I’ve had the chance to work directly and indirectly with some amazing brands like Apple, Samsung, NBC, Verizon, Instagram, and even the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. It’s been a wild ride!
What I enjoy is mixing creativity with practicality and Technology. I love making designs that are not just eye-catching but also serve a purpose and hit the mark for clients. I’m known for being able to switch things up between static and animated designs, which keeps things fresh and dynamic.
One thing I’m proud of is the recognition my work has received. Over the years, I’ve picked up more than 40 awards and have been featured in various industry publications. It feels great to see my hard work pay off and be acknowledged.
What sets me apart? I’d say it’s my unique journey. I started on the path to becoming an engineer and then made a big leap into the creative field. This background gives me a different perspective and approach to design. Plus, my education in Animation and Design, along with a Master’s in Advertising, has given me a strong foundation and a global outlook.
But honestly, what keeps me going is the love for making a mark through design. I aim to create work that not only looks good but also connects with people and resonates with the audience.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
As a creative in 2024, I’m constantly amazed by how fast Artificial Intelligence is developing. There are new tools out there that can create incredibly realistic images and videos in a fraction of the time it would take an artist. It’s both exciting and a bit daunting for many creatives.
Personally, I see AI as an incredible tool for boosting creativity. It opens up new ways to generate ideas, automate repetitive tasks, and streamline workflows. AI can help with creating design elements, suggesting color schemes, and even generating initial drafts. But here’s the thing—AI lacks the personal touch, emotional depth, and unique perspective that we humans bring to our work.
True artistry is deeply connected to our personal experiences, emotions, and cultural backgrounds—things that AI simply can’t replicate. Human-made art tells individual stories, captures passions, and reflects the subtleties of human experience. While AI can be a powerful assistant, it can’t replace the authenticity, intuition, and originality that come from a human artist.
