Today we’d like to introduce you to Noor Kidwai

Hi Noor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

My parents owned a small movie theater in a small farming town in Canada called High River. I used to do improv in high school and once I graduated me and my friends saw the opportunity to do shows at the theater. The shows got really popular and we started doing stand up comedy during them. After I tried stand up comedy I became hooked and never looked back. That was over 15 years ago and I have been working now as a professional comedian for almost a decade.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Of course not. Learning to become a comedian is in itself a many years long battle. Writing a joke, stage presence, confidence ect all take time. Once you have learnt those things then you have to find your own unique comedy voice which in itself is another even longer and harder process. You can really only learn that by trial and error.
