Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikita Turner
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making jewelry right at the start of the pandemic (late 2019/2020). During that time, I was in a poor mental state. Making jewelry was ( and still is) a coping mechanism for me. It was something that I enjoyed and it was something to help me relax and clear my head thus, putting me in a better mental state. Once I started to wear my jewelry and post it on social media, I started to gain attention from people who were interested in my work. That’s when my brother suggested that I start an Etsy shop. And the rest is history!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Although this journey has been pretty enjoyable and smooth for the most part, there have been just a few bumps along the way. One of the things was learning how to start and maintain my jewelry business on my own. Currently, I am doing everything solo: producing the products, taking photos, advertising, packing & shipping, customer service, etc. Sometimes, it can be a bit overwhelming.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
One of the things that I specialize in is making handmade jewelry that sends a message and brightens your day! I am known for being a big advocate for mental health and wellness, so I like to incorporate positive messages in my jewelry, especially my bracelets. For example, my most recent products that I completed are my positive affirmation bracelets. These bracelets serve as a cute reminder of how amazing you are! I am proud of the light that I share with others through my jewelry. I believe my authenticity and my genuine passion for mental health and spreading joy to others is what sets me apart from others.
How do you think about happiness?
Being surrounded by the people I love is what makes me the happiest. I am super grateful to have a wonderful support system who encourages me and lifts me up when times are hard. I also find happiness and peace in being out in nature. I love enjoying the feel of the breeze, the sounds of the birds, and the calmness of being around trees and also water.
