Today we’d like to introduce you to Natascia Bachini
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Sweetie Pie was born in 2017 in Tuscany, in Italy, as a biscuit and pastry shop. All the recipes are made by Natascia, at that time the owner and only pastry chef of Sweetie Pie, a true self-made woman, thanks to her previous experience in other pastry shops in the research and
development. All this for a duration of about two years.
2019 was the turning point year. Sweetie Pie becomes a family business and her son Federico joins Natascia. Two worlds come together; Natascia’s pastry making technique and theory with taste and aesthetic sense of the world of fashion. World in which Federico studied and worked for years.
Sweetie Pie today is a pastry shop with a showroom inside which there is not the usual counter, but
an exhibition of wedding cakes like in a real atelier.
A pastry shop that is dedicated exclusively to events and that elevates the importance of wedding cake.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The transition from a classic pastry shop to an event pastry shop was not easy.
it was a challenge, but today it gives us a lot of satisfaction and the choice to become a pastry shop for events led us to travel all over Italy and beyond, allowing us to take
part of the most important day of many couples from multiple cultures. Until
international recognition such as publications in magazines of the caliber of VOGUE.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The signature of Sweetie Pie as well as in taste, given by the precious raw materials combined in tasty fillings,
it’s in the decorations. Where every detail is meticulously taken care of.
Couples who rely on Sweetie Pie for their wedding cake embark on a real journey,
made up of meetings, tastings and inspections. The spouses are guided step by step to reach the final choice of
their wedding cake through projects and the creation of sketches. In all respects, theirs will be a tailor-made cake.
Everything is entirely made by hand, the wedding cakes are painted, the swirls draped and the flowers modeled
like a sculptor does with his works.
The novelty for 2024 that we have decided to launch is a line of entirely edible fabrics that can be used to dress
our wedding cakes.
How do you define success?
For us, success is having couples from all over the world who recognize our signature and want one of our creations.
