Today we’d like to introduce you to Moesia Davis.
Hi Moesia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been more creative than analytical. I knew from an early age that I had a passion for creating. I’ve always loved photography but I had no idea that it could possibly be a career. I didn’t attend a high school that offered courses in art, theater or photography. So, my start in the field came later in life. I started photography little league sports, then food and eventually weddings and travel. My life is a result of sacrifice and perseverance. There have been bumps in the road but the reward has been awesome.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are definitely struggles associated with any business. I think my biggest struggle has been relative to time management and the inability to relinquish control. In the beginning, it was difficult to find my place and space in a world of creatives. Art is subjected and everyone isn’t going to love what you’re doing. You need thick skin to maintain a business in an art related field.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a fine art wedding and travel photographer. I specialize in film photography and I’m most known the art of storytelling through photos. I’m not really apart of any special category in the wedding industry. I’ve always done whatever I’ve wanted to do. I realized that as a creative, you can’t really follow the crowd.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is waking up every morning knowing that you are truly pursuing your dreams. I live everyday with a grateful heart knowing that I’m walking in my purpose. Success is also having the support system who encourages me daily. I have an incredible life that affords me the opportunity to travel the world. It’s something that I’ll never take for granted. Everyone doesn’t know or find their purpose at an early age. I was one of those people. I’m so thankful that I listened to voice of intuition and continued to follow the path that led me to photography.
