Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael (jusmic) Stewart
Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start by doing talent shows. I took my development further by attending Mercy college where I got a bachelors degree in music. In the early 2000’s I performed at the “Voices of Tomorrow showcase” Presented by BMI in conjunction with the non-profit educational organization Add Joy To Learning where I met Hollywood Producer and the CEO and founder of Mozell Entertainment Group Richard Willis Jr who became friend and mentor to me. I toured and produced music with his artist Reyn and scored music for Fox News Corps documentary “Don’t Count Us Out” as well as other Docufilms and Apps. I’ve also recorded and produced independent albums of my own
“All Good Things Come From God” and Tomorrow’s Too Late”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. There’s been a lot of challenges and hurdles, triumphs and failures. I believe the failures are necessary and help us to develop character and patience. I’ve personally dealt with insecurity, depression and alcoholism and all this while living my dreams in an affluent environment then losing it all. Having to renew my faith and recover my purpose wasn’t easy. There’s things that I wanted but it did’t come overnight. Wanting success, then having to wait my turn and living up to the expectations were also struggles along the way but we learn and we overcome.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an Artist first but I also love producing music and scoring films. I’m most proud of the work I’ve done as Mic Illusion (music producer) with Mozell Entertainment Group. All the projects we’ve taking on and the most recent project called The Known Unknown, which is a symphony of Hip-Hop in five movements. Fame, Friendship, Fulfillment, Fear, Freedom. I’m also proud to still be releasing music as my artist Name “Jus Mic” the latest EP “Tomorrows Too Late” is out now on all streaming platforms. The music video for the single “You Shine” is on YouTube. https://youtu.be/MKfdeHWdLCY?si=048z6u3MLmrAfBY6
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes I would just like to express that I’m open for collaborations and working with artists of all genres. Also, to let them know to never give up. I was speaking with my mentor from M.E.G. And he reminded me to never give up on your dreams. It is the thing that are sons and daughters will remember the most and never undervalue the friendships and relationships that you make along your journey.
