Hi Madison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was in college, I went to a farmers market with my parents where I was able to get my first permanent bracelet. I was intrigued by the intricate process of it. Fast forward to 2023 I started working for a small business, Roaming Travelers, which inspired me to start my own business. I fell in love with accessorizing my outfits with jewelry. Jewelry makes a huge impact on an outfit! I did my research and found a machine from Sunstone that was made specifically to weld jewelry. Then I searched for high quality chains and charms. Now I get to help people make memories by giving people custom jewelry!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road of starting a business is always rocky since you do not know if it will be successful. One of my biggest struggles was building credibility. I practiced the art of permanent jewelry for two months before I started doing it for the public. I did jewelry on friends and family which is what sparked conversations that led to people finding out who I was and what I do. Thankfully, I had an incredible support team that helped get my name out there!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have grown up all over the United States so I try to incorporate that in to my brand. I am inspired by the western style which you can see shown in some of my accessories such as hats, charms, and shirts. My main focus is on giving my clients high quality jewelry that will last as long as they want it to. I give my clients information on the product to properly care for it, whether it is their first or tenth piece. I am extremely passionate about jewelry which I hope clients can see when they get a permanent jewelry from me.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for starting a business is if you are thinking about doing it, do it. It is never too late or too early to start. It is one of the best decisions I have made. You will fail but you will get to learn from it which will help your business grow. It is important to have a good support system and a clear idea of where you want to start. It is okay to experiment with different products until you figure out the kind of image you want for your brand.
