Today we’d like to introduce you to Kennedy Rivers.
Hi Kennedy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We originally started by doing wildlife photography. We loved to do it together and would try and find rare birds at our local parks. When we started branching into portrait photography, we were lucky in finding the right connections right away. Our first time second shooting a wedding, we made a strong connection which allowed us to grow our business very quickly in the wedding industry. We’re passionate about portraiture and work in all kinds.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the photography side, it has been relatively smooth. Clients have gravitated towards our photography work. Video wise, it’s not as well know in Omaha so it has been a real marketing challenge. As a freelance videographer, breaking into the commercial space has been very difficult. Most businesses in this field have 3-6 person crews and a very hard to compete with. We’re determined to break into the small business promotional space.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re known for being able to deliver professional media over multiple genres of photography and videography. We specialize in portraits, weddings, and mini documentaries. I believe what sets us apart is our editing style along with our video quality. Our photography has a unique flare to it. We have a lot of contrast and deep saturation in our photos. Our videos match the quality of larger productions while being priced extremely competitively.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a creative. From as long as I remember, I’ve always had the desire to create things. My first serious introduction into the creative space was music. I sang for the my entire life. I also played guitar since middle school and give lessons at a local school. Ever since social media became prevalent, I’ve always been frustrated with the lack of high quality media presented. Low effort media thrives in todays market and greatly diminishes the human aspect of what a lot of us have created from the ground up. We want to shed a light on the grind that many of us authentical choose to do everyday. We’re hoping one day to inspire others with out work.
