Today we’d like to introduce you to Katera Bridges
Katera, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It’s honestly so surreal to say that I am a 5-figure online business owner as a stay-at-home mom. I got started with my business in September of 2023, so I just passed my 1st anniversary and I can honestly say that God has been good to me! I started my business because I wanted to be able to help my husband out financially. I had just graduated college the year prior, our son had just turned 1 year old, and I was still scrounging around trying to figure out what to do with my life. I knew I didn’t want to put my son into daycare, and I also knew that a 9-5 has never been in the plans for me, so I knew that it was finally time for me to let go and let God guide me.
I started my business by investing in a program that taught me how to market and brand myself on social media. Through this, I found my lane… meaning, I found something that I loved talking about and that was Pinterest. I created my business around teaching other business owners how to leverage Pinterest for their online brands, and the rest was history! I went viral on Tiktok and ended up hitting my first 5 figure month in March.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth road. Just when my business took off, I found myself dealing with imposter syndrome and fell into a slight depression due to finding out news personally that I thought would slow me down from my business. I felt like just when things were finally clicking and taking off for me, I was knocked back down. This caused me to take a 3-month break away from my business, which I regret because when I came back, I felt like I was starting from square 1. I had to learn to rebuild my momentum and just keep pushing forward even though I felt like I was behind.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an online creator coach/business mentor! I help women, moms, and business owners come up with a way to monetize their unique skills and expertise via social media! I originally became known for teaching others how to monetize Pinterest. Then from there, the rest was history!
I am most proud of helping my students gain confidence in themselves. I get a lot of students who are afraid to put themselves out there with social media, and I give them strategy and encourage them to do so! I have since had students who have also been able to monetize old Pinterest accounts as well as taught others how to build personal brands and get into TikTok shop!
What sets me apart from others, is my willingness to help others. I do more than I should sometimes but that is because I want to see people succeed. I really hold your hand and make sure that you have the skills needed to push forward. I also have a lot of patience, and I guess it’s the mom in me but I really nurture and push my students!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Some advice I would give those who are just starting would be to NOT give up. It doesn’t matter if you’re not seeing results right away, just figure out what needs to change, pivot, and keep pushing. You can’t compare yourself to other people on social media because you do not know what stage they are in their business. As I tell all of my students, “Just figure out your lane, and stay in it.”
