Today we’d like to introduce you to Kareem “Reemo Meerak” Tyson.

Hi Kareem “Reemo Meerak”, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

Well. Well, Well….you want me to show my youthful age aggggaaaainnnnn, lol.
I started out in Entertainment as an Actor, to be exact a Background Actor, and “One Liners” on major television shows, and films. Then, when “Life was Life’n” around Mid 2010 until Early 2012 I transitioned to Media. In the process, I had started out my own vlog/youtube channel called “ReemTV” where I would show the good and great parts of the hood I was from….HARRRRRRRLEMMM!!!!
I wanted my own version of “Jackass” with my homies, and just show documentary of what we were about. Once I started doing media, I really turned it out to a platform show. Even though it got its acclaim and won a few awards, I took the petal off the gas with it because I was involved in so much behind the scenes with productions, and creative director projects. In 2023, my homie/brother/Business partner; DJ Chase urged me to bring it back. So, I did but it was in here and there spurts. Now in 2024, it’s been Back and I’m having so much fun, and just like that it’s on the verge of being nominated at the Davey Awards for this year. I submitted an episode and I really hope it comes to fruition that it wins. I’m not going to lie I will cry harder than I did when the platform won its first award in 2017.

Phewwwwww….that was a lot, lol.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Whooooo, it’s this part.

When I mentioned about “Life Be Life’n” I really meant that. During that period of time from 2010 until Early 2012 I was going through a very bad time in which I tried multiple times of taking my own life away, as well as was doing behaviors that really were not of whom I am, or for that matter really shouldn’t of happened in my life. Then, again how else do I persevere or for that matter grown into the individual that I am…..NOW!!!!. Three things helped me out tremendously during these times, and they are working in Education, really digging deep for my Self-Love, and transitioning into Media. I swear to you if these three things didn’t occur, who knows what transpires then. Self-Love, I had to get that back during the times as an Actor, and just alone being a Creative you damn near fall into this weird space of Appeasement and Self-Doubt that you really forget who TF you are in the midst of it. I really wanted the support and honestly it wasn’t coming out as I thought it would be. Also, what I dreamed to be as an Actor really wasn’t going my way, and I truly didn’t have a grasp of the business because I was just happy that I wasn’t working retail jobs anymore vs actually going into it learning the BUSINESS!!!!!
I can’t believe I really wanted to kill myself for something that I truly love or for that matter went to High School for (Theeeeeee High School of Art & Design….Class of 1998). My lord, I truly do not ever want to be in that space or energy ever again. I am very happy that I took a calculated risk (which I’m not promoting anyone to do at all) by pulling back from my friends, family, and the industry to really build my Self-Love to be STRONGER. If one can not handle that, then you go seek professional help.
Once, I started the process right after I became a New York City Department of Education Employee the same year o started out in Media in 2012. Both couldn’t come any better in that fashion. With Education, working with the youth is so therapeutic you don’t understand the magnitude of knowing and understanding the youth in their own capacity, and you the individual as an Educator have the honor and responsibility to guide them to the utmost importance of light to SUCCEED.
I can’t believe April of this year made it 12 Years being an Educator (Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional). Then, with Media is where I truly understood the ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS. From Contracts, importance of filming, permits, publicist, manager, entertainment lawyer, pre-production meetings, post-production meetings, the importance of an EMAIL, invoices, and much more. I truly am blessed to contribute in Media as long as I have, and still doing it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I am a Media Personality, Blogger, Host, and A&R / Co-Owner of Worldwide Soundz Records with owner; DJ Chase. I host two media platforms, one is my Podcast; Reemo Meerak: The C.U.T.S. which stands for CULTURE X URBAN X TECHNOLOGY X SPORTS and my Vlog, and original “Creative Child” called; REEMTV: Get Serious TV. The podcast more so speaks to the power plying figures I’ve worked with or personally know and goes into conversations of their careers, as well as inspiring stories for the upcoming creatives to grasp and implement within their creative journeys. Now, REEMTV we follow me on my journeys in the Entertainment Industry, as well as events within the Hip Hop Culture. Sometimes there’s interviews with the known figures, and sometimes not. Overall, just love what I do with both platforms.

Also, I’m a Content Writer/Contributor with Digiwaxx Media and Medium Blogger.

I am most proud that I kept going without giving up (Ohhhhhh there were manyyyyyyy times I wanted to), maintaining my consistency with the culture, and quite frankly staying TF out of people’s business and staying focused on myself, and the BRAND!!!

What sets me apart from the many people in the field of Media, is simply put my energy, passion, desire, determination, and will for what I create and do is bar none. My “numbers” don’t speak as loud, but the rooms I’ve been in and graced with my media platforms feel the impact after I leave. The publicists and managers trust me heavily with their clients at this point, and to be clear they respect my value, and work.

I dedicated myself to make it this way because, God and myself knew and understood the abilities I have within to make it happen!!!!!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing video games, Ninja Turtles, Basketball, and doing pranks with my friends all along in Flushing, Queens Just overall my raising in LAurelton, Queens and HARLEM!!!!
