Hi K LaShawn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

Almost one year ago from this December, I was scrolling the internet trying to find inspiration for a holiday outfit for a party I had to attend. Specifically looking for someone with a slightly round belly, to mimic the style that would be flattering on myself. That was an unsuccessful search.

The fact that I could not find anyone with a similar shape was concerning to me. So I researched social media again, this time more specifically for diastasis recti, the condition that I have. And that was even worse, because there wasn’t one person showing how to dress a body with this condition. That’s when I knew that I had to become the face of fashion for women who suffered with this condition.

I began with clothes I had that I knew fit me well and were fashionable. Items that I knew people had complimented me on before. I kept trying things and posting them as I shopped for myself, and here we are today.

I must say I grew pretty fast over the past year and it was very tedious, but I am super glad that I began. I get so many inboxes about how my videos help and inspire women find outfits or just encourage them to not give up. That’s the biggest win for me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

This journey has been anything but smooth for me. Lol.

My first month in, I almost gave due to a life threatening experience that landed me in the hospital for over a week. From that, it was a difficult road to recovery. One I am still slightly recovering from today.

That experience seems like it set off a series of health ups and downs. But with the help of family, my belief in God, and a great doctor, we were able to set things on a good path.

During that time, I was so unsure if I was going to continue creating content, but my husband encouraged me to keep going. So I did. A decision I am glad I made.

As a fashion, lifestyle and beauty brand influencer, my work focuses on empowering individuals to express themselves through fashion, makeup and skincare while celebrating diversity and authenticity. I specialize in creating engaging, educational, and aesthetically pleasing content that highlights innovative fashion trends, beauty products, and techniques. My audience knows me for my honest reviews, creative videos, and ability to connect with them on a personal level.

I’m incredibly proud of the community I’ve built—a space where people feel inspired, supported and encouraged to embrace their unique beauty. Collaborating with top fashion and beauty brands to develop products and campaigns that reflect inclusivity is a significant achievement I plan to reach very soon.

Additionally, mentoring aspiring influencers and seeing them thrive brings me great joy! I wrote an ebook about what I did to attain my current level of success, and the few that have purchased the book have said that they are experiencing growth and success in just a short amount of time.

What truly sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity. I prioritize transparency in everything I do, from reviewing articles of clothing and products to sharing my journey. My diverse background and global perspective allow me to connect with a wide audience, and my knack for blending creativity with practicality ensures my content resonates with everyone, from novices to professionals.

Any big plans?

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding my brand while staying true to my values of authenticity and inclusivity.

I’m going to continue to grow my online platforms offering in-depth fashion advice and beauty education. I want to empower people to make informed choices and feel confident in their style and beauty routines.

I’m also looking forward to collaborating with more top brands on campaigns that champion sustainability and inclusivity. I want to use my influence to make the industry more conscious and accessible to everyone.

Beauty isn’t just about what’s on the surface, so I’m planning to integrate wellness and lifestyle content into my platform. This includes mental health advocacy, self-care routines, and ways to achieve balance in our busy lives.

I also aim to connect with my audience on a larger scale through in-person events, workshops, and meet-and-greets. Building deeper relationships with the community is always a priority for me. Without my community, Im just a girl with flare from a city in Pennsylvania.

Big changes are definitely on the horizon, and I’m thrilled about the opportunity to grow, evolve, and continue inspiring others.
