Today we’d like to introduce you to Finnigan Jones
Finnigan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I fell in love with the bees and then I started making candles in my laundry room! I have always loved crafting and started making candles as gifts for friends. One thing led to another and I started selling them to retailers, then more retailers, and more!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that I have been lucky because any challenges have been really fun for me to try and figure out. I moved states for love and that has been the biggest challenge so far. Having to move your whole operation, deal with the legal aspect, and then also find new beekeepers to work with definitely was a big obstacle. I have finally made it through that part and have found awesome new beekeepers to work with and really happy about it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create 100% pure beeswax candles, but they are not your average beeswax candles. They are all in the forms of naked women. They proudly honor women and their bodies. It can seem a little scandalous for some, but definitely conversation starters. Beyond that, I am a beekeeper myself and really love the bees and feel they are huge collaborators in the process! I work with a few small beekeepers who do great work with the bees to source my beeswax.
How do you define success?
I define success by providing something good for the world that is from your heart. What I do makes me happy and it makes others happy too. I hear such wonderful, impactful stories all the time from people who have purchased my candles. Those stories make me feel proud of myself and what I am putting out into the world.
