Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr Emily Loveland
Dr Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Dr Emily Loveland, Chiropractic Physician began her collegiate career at Grand Valley State University, Allendale MI, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2000. While at GVSU, she completed the athletic training program which led to a short career as head high school athletic trainer. More interested in touch therapies than sports medicine, she completed massage school in 2002. Dr Emily then pursued a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree & Acupuncture certificate from the National University of Health Sciences in 2006. She prides herself on providing her patients with compassionate, individualized hands on care that focuses on wellness of the body, not just treatment of the symptoms.
Since 2015, Dr Emily has shared her love of learning as adjunct professor at Elgin Community College, teaching Anatomy & Physiology in the massage therapy program.
In 2020, Dr Emily opened Sage Healing Collective in Saint Charles, Illinois.
Sage is a local get-a-away for Fox Valley residents and a hometown destination for visiting guests, with 12 private treatment rooms, natural nail care studio, spacious couples massage suite, yoga & sound studio, HaloIR Sauna, and a head-to-toe Apothecary & retail boutique. Sage practitioner’s specialize in holistic, hands-on medicine, mostly organic & results driven skincare, wild-crafted nail care, traditional & cosmetic acupuncture, relaxation or therapeutic bodywork, yoga & stretch therapies, aerial yoga, and a variety of unique healing therapies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Sage opened March 9, 2020, with one week of business before having to close down on and off for the next 2 years. Luckily Dr Emily had a reserve, so Sade was able to survive.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Dr Emily Loveland has spent 20+ years in the spa & wellness community. She has owned and operated her own chiropractic practice since 2009. Her solo practice grew to include a variety of wellness services including Acupuncture & Nutritional Medicine. Dr Emily’s dream to expand into a day spa is well rooted in her beginnings as a massage therapist. This fueled her passion to create Sage Healing Collective as a collaboration of like-minded practitioners from the industries of beauty, medicine & movement.
Sage Healing Collective is distinctive by nurturing 3 intertwined groups:
The Collective. Sage provides opportunities for practitioners to live out their passion for helping, healing, relaxing and connecting with Guests from the Community. Dr Emily has gathered local talent of experienced professionals that have wisdom & expertise to thrive in their ever-changing industries. She also seeks out new talent, hand-picked for their new found knowledge and innate gift to treat, touch and heal.
The Guest. Whether seeking respite from the day to day grind, relief from pain, digging further to uncover the root cause of dysfunction, or a pursuit of health & happiness you are our Guest at Sage. Dr Emily & the Collective have dedicated their careers to treat Guests in their best interest through kindness & compassion. This philosophy is a core value at Sage Healing Collective.
The Community. At Sage we honor the practice of Prasada, a state of spontaneous generosity. We hope to enhance your pursuit of health & happiness and in turn you will share what you learn with your Community. Being treated with kindness has been proven to inspire the spread of kindness to others. Maintaining high standards, receiving what comes your way with gratitude, and encouraging self-fulfillment are the foundation of a strong Community.
Our mission as facilitators of health and healing, is to pursue happiness and fulfillment as we express deep appreciation and respect for the planet, self, and others.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
