Hi Carlaura, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Making the decision to become an entrepreneur was definitely a scary decision, but also what I like to call a faith move. I had no idea of what I was walking into, however, I knew that I had two little boys who would be watching my every move and I needed to make them proud. Dream Big Inspire Big is a business birthed because of my two boys, I never want them to limit themselves to just what they see around them. I want them to go after every dream they have, no matter how big or impossible it may seem.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about this journey has been smooth, however everything about it has been worth it. Everything has been a lesson and has impacted my life in some way or another. One of my biggest struggles that I dealt with on a personal level was self doubt. Thinking that what I was doing was not making an impact, however I had to address that struggle within myself and once I did it was the biggest blessing for me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In this stage of my journey I’ve learned that I’m able to not limit myself. Being an entrepreneur I’ve expanded from author, to apparel designer, and inspirational speaker. I’m able to connect with people through my own personal experiences and it never seems like work, but I’m simply doing what I was called and purposed to do. Being able to share, encourage and inspire others is more than what I would have expected my life to be, but I’m truly blessed to do it. I believe that this is what sets be apart from others, my willingness and transparency with people.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Being willing to put yourself in rooms with like minded people, as well as being willing to learn from those who have been where you’re trying to go.
