Today we’d like to introduce you to Antone Nixon

Hi Antone, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

From simply just waking up each morning to walk my dog, little did I know that recording the sunrise each morning would turn into huge deal for the city of Virginia Beach and anyone who simply just loves watching the sunrise. Once I realized that my content was being shared on a daily basis, I reached a point where I felt like I couldn’t miss a sunrise, or I would let people down. No matter how tired i am some mornings, i still get up but i will admit, my dog doesn’t allow me to sleep in so i ALWAYS remind people, we can thank my dog Boomer for VB Sunrise and after that, it’s my son, Maddox, who wants to follow in my foot steps.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

Not at all! I wish I could say this journey has been a smooth road but that is most certainly not the case. There is always going to be speed bumps, but honestly, those speed bumps are what make people better, it’s what’s made me better in life as a person, a father and a friend. I can almost say for certain that any successful person has had a rough patch in their lives but its truly what makes me work harder and smarter. I am thankful each and every day when I wake up and the smile I put on peoples faces is what makes me want to push harder.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

It seems that locally here in Virginia Beach, more and more people are becoming very familiar with “VB Sunrise” its become a thing where people will see me out and say “You’re the sunrise guy!” and its always amazing to talk with them and hear what they have to say, i guess you can say I am known as the sunrise guy lol.

So long story short, I am a professionally certified drone pilot with the FAA, which is classified as a “Part 107 remote pilot” meaning I can operate unmanned aircrafts and follow the right guidelines to ensure the safety for myself and the others around me.

I am MOST proud to say that I was able to capture content for Tony Hawk, the professional skateboarder as I will never forget seeing the notification popping up on my phone ‘”Tony hawk has mentioned you in his reel” I was blown away!! That video reached over 1 million people! I will never forget that.

I think the thing that separates me from others is my true consistency and dedication on a day to day basis, my music selections and most importantly, the views i provide.

What’s next?

My plans for the future are bright! Just like the sun. The amazing part about “VB Sunrise” and capturing content that involves “the sun” is the fact that it will forever rise each and every day for the rest of our lives! My son knows one day he will have to take over the VB Sunrise duties lol. He’s lucky he gets to sleep in for now but he better get ready lol.

Overall, I just want to continue to represent the city of Virginia Beach, a place that will forever have my heart and a place that I will always cherish. This is my forever home.. ‘The 757″
