Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Serrano Villaverde
Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Really appreciate the chance to chat with you today! I’ve been working as Creative Art Director since 2016, collaborating with awesome brands like Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Microsoft, American Express, and Mercedes-Benz in agencies around the globe like MRM, Publicis or Ogilvy.Throughout my career, I’ve spearheaded both 360 and digital campaigns, catering to clients ranging from regional European to global scales.
My journey into the advertising world began through an opportunity presented by my university. Starting as an Art Director for the L’Oreal account at Garnier, I quickly found my passion for the role. This enthusiasm led me to pursue a master’s degree at the Miami Ad School in New York until now!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Navigating through creative challenges isn’t a walk in the park, especially when facing the dreaded creative block. However, I’ve picked up a trick or two for dealing with it – sometimes, you just gotta hit pause. Personally, I find solace in taking a stroll while jamming out to my favorite tunes. It’s like hitting the reset button for my mind. My advice? Tune in to your body’s signals. If it’s craving a break, honor that need. It’s as simple as that.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an Art Director, I specialize in crafting visually captivating campaigns that resonate with audiences. My forte lies in both traditional and digital realms, allowing me to create comprehensive experiences for brands across various platforms.
One of the most fulfilling experiences in my career has been the opportunity to collaborate with American Express on a global campaign for Pride. Being able to contribute to a project that celebrates diversity and inclusivity on such a large scale was incredibly rewarding.
Moreover, having my artwork displayed on Times Square billboards as part of this campaign was a surreal and unforgettable moment.
Ultimately, what distinguishes me is o continue pushing boundaries and constantly seeking new inspirations and refining my skills to deliver fresh and impactful creations.
How do you think about happiness?
Well, it’s quite simple – reading and drawing. There’s a unique joy in getting lost in a good book and expressing myself creatively through art. They’re not just hobbies; they’re passions!
