Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianna Macgregor
Hi Adrianna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved travel and organizing itineraries. My mom traveled for work when I was little and I loved having her itinerary to follow along with so I would always know where she was in the world. As I got older, I traveled with her and the itineraries came to life. She traveled with a TON of luggage so I learned to pack from her…and as I continued to travel on my own I realized that bringing so much with me made travel on trains a pain in the neck (and I also didn’t leave room for souvenirs!) I downsized and started using packing cubes and my travel became even easier. But I was organizing well before packing cubes!
I was that friend that would clean out my friends’ parents refrigerators, rearrange pantries, and reorganize dresser drawers. When I saw mess, I was drawn to it, I felt compelled to organize, declutter, and make it better!
My friends were my first clients until I launched Soul & Space. The pandemic gave me the space from my day job to finally build thee business of my dreams. In addition to the organization aspect, I began my journey into the world of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). The personal development I learned turned into certifications that I now use to assist my clients through their clutter.
There is a link from your environment to your mental/emotional/physical health and with my services, I offer the betterment of both.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Does anyone say that building a business is a smooth road… I think not! Building a business is personal and professional journey and every impostor thought will rear its ugly head (and usually at the most inconvenient time) at some point so that you have to choose time and again to get up every time you “fail” But I truly believe there is no such thing as failure unless you give up. Otherwise, you are simply learning. You learn how to adjust, change, pivot, and recommit.
Impostor Syndrome is what I hear about from so many people. And I experienced it as well. “Why would someone choose me to help them with ____?” “What makes me think I can do this?” “The market is already saturated with organizers, I won’t make it.” For every one of these limiting beliefs, I had to coach myself to the other side. The most important thing to me is the effect I can have on peoples’ lives so I know that I MUST keep going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My business is called Soul & Space and I specialize in NLP Coaching for life organization. This means that not only can I help you clean out the garage or spare bedroom but I can also help you declutter your mind of the old habits and patterns that got you there in the first place! I use hypnotherapy, NLP techniques, and EFT with my clients to help them release overwhelm and other negative emotions, and to find their way through the journey of decluttering.
I am most proud of the feedback I receive from my clients about how I have changed their lives, given them back a piece of them they thought they had lost, etc. What sets me apart from others is that I am not trying to make your space anything other than functional for you. I don’t believe in buying a bunch of pretty containers for things that are already contained (however, if it suits the space there might be some bins required). I want to help you repurpose, reduce, reuse, and declutter in a financially responsible way.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Life is one big game of risk. Go after what you want because no one gets out alive.
