We love grabbing drinks with our entrepreneur friends because they always have the craziest stories. Sometimes it’s a big, unexpected win. Other times it’s a problem that came out of nowhere and couldn’t possibly have been foreseen. The craziest thing that has ever happened to me was a customer accusing me of being a fraudster and a scammer! I met this customer online who placed an order for a flyer design. She informed me that she was referred by a customer that I had previously worked for. I then sent her a price list for my services and also stated that payment will only be made after she approves the design. Read more>>

In 2016 I had just left a bad job and was striking out on my own as a freelancer for the first time. I wasn’t sure how to find clients, so I blasted my bio and a link to my website on a bunch of local Facebook groups, hoping something would pan out. With zero marketing budget, my SOS Mosquito Repellant was featured in the Rachel Ray Every Day magazine. Read more>>

At which he turned round, looked me straight in the eyes and pointed at me saying “Gods work is perfect, yours is not”. And, of course, he was right. He was given his body and it was for me to work with it and not complain. A great lesson Read more>>

I was at my desk editing pictures when the phone rang. Nate, a good friend of mine was calling to ask a favor. He wanted me to do a freebie photo shoot of a friend of his, it was important. I knew Nate well and trusted him. If his friend needed photos for some reason, I was happy to help. The next day Sky called me, Nate’s friend, and explained the situation. Sky was a care tacker and the lady she was in charge of wanted to be a model. Melody was 13 years old when she was in a horrible car accident. The crash left both her parents dead and a large glass shard lodged in her brain. Surgery saved her life, but the damage was done. Melody would forever be 13 years old. Read more>>
