We love grabbing drinks with our entrepreneur friends because they always have the craziest stories. Sometimes it’s a big, unexpected win. Other times it’s a problem that came out of nowhere and couldn’t possibly have been foreseen. There is so much to learn from these stories and so we asked some of the brightest entrepreneurs and creatives in the community to share some of those stories below.

The craziest story is how I started this business. I went back to working a 9-5 after having my first daughter because I simply couldn’t make my business work. When I first started, I said to myself I would just keep my head down, do the corporate thing and forget about entrepreneurship thing. That lasted all of 90 days. I wasn’t happy with the way things were going and knew I had to make a change. But I couldn’t just quit because I had a husband, a kid, a mortgage…big girl responsibilities. Read more>>

My feature film ‘SEMICOLON’ started to develop back in 2016. I was only 22 years old, trying to thrive in a industry led by men and working to find the funds to make my film. I had a good teaser/trailer for creative pitch and via e-mail every person I would get in touch with was very impressed and was excited to chat more. At the time of the meetings I would walk into the room and they would analyze me from bottom to top and I could tell in their eyes everything they were seeing was a red flag (for them) “young, female, latina background, accent in her English, first time filmmaker, etc”. In late 2021, I was prepping for an adventure elopement in Yosemite National Park with one of the coolest couples ever. We had met earlier in the year after I shot their engagement session in Utah and shortly after began planning their intimate wedding at Glacier Point in Yosemite. We applied for the necessary permits, rented AirBnBs, booked vendors—everything was ready to go! Read more>>

As event planners, most of us in the industry have a saying “ one of these days I’m going to write a book”. There are so many crazy and bizarre things that happen in our profession as we plan peoples most important days with them (and their families). There is one particular wedding I planned last year that I could write an entire book on alone but think I still need some healing from it (haha) before I’m ready to share. So my second craziest story will have to do…. Read more>>

One of things I learn being an event organizer, I need to make sure I am able to know a little bit of everything within in my event. Whether its production, electrical, or how to develop a stage. One time a long of our equipment was on one outlet & eventually the power went out. We ask the venue on the breakers & they said it was fine. From there, we found our one extension cord completely melted. We got a replacement & learn to do research on circuits to ensure it would never happen again. Never in my life I thought I need to always need to ask for the locations of each circuit in a building. Read more>>

The craziest thing that happened to me since I’ve been a business owner would be the time one of my Close friends called state broad on me when I first got my suite. I had been in my new suite for about 3 months. I only had body contouring clients at the time. I was so focused on being amazing at this new service I wasn’t as focused about my lash career because I didn’t have much lash clientele at the time. Read more>>

One year ago I climbed the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Mt. Kilimanjaro located in Tanzania Africa. On my flight from the United States to Africa I suddenly fell very ill. I had a terrible cough, my body felt like it was hit by a 24 wheeler, sore, chills, extremely tired. This was very rare for me because I pride myself in my health. I exercise, I eat well I refuse to take tylenol for something as small as a headache. Read more>>

In the month of July, which is generally our busiest season, we decided to take a huge project and be part of an event in the Washington DC area. Due to the fact that I was personally out of the country, my small team, including friends and family helped me gear up for the event. While I was still out of the country, I received a phone call about an accident involving my truck, which was only 2 hours away from Washington DC. Read more>>

I will tell you all the tale of my SXSW journey. SXSW is a huge, week-long music and media conference and festival here in Austin, TX. No celebrity sightings, but it does feature a pushy event planner from L.A. trying to boss us around. It felt like we were in a movie! So fun! “Taj” contacted us to do “dark and moody” flowers for the Atmosphere TV event at SXSW featuring original art by Banksy. And because I once saw a documentary about Banksy 10 years ago, I said yes! Read more>>

The paranormal aspects of spiritual work. I mean I was born with the gifting I have of course we all are. However, when it comes to mediumship, remote viewing etc I even get shocked at time at things I know or see and a client can confirm that it’s 100% accurate. This isn’t good or bad. Just can get crazy at times. Read more>>
