Today we’d like to introduce you to Yeon Chung.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had a small front yard years ago. I was a full-time graphic designer back then so I was gone all day and couldn’t really enjoy the few flowers I had in my yard since they would have withered already by the time I got back home.
So I cut a few flowers and brought them to my office so I could actually enjoy them and I did this for a while. Coworkers who noticed that sometimes there were fresh flowers in my office commented that I must have a nice garden and this is how it all started for me!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle is self-doubt but it can also be a powerful force when starting something new! Taking small, actionable steps is the best way to overcome it. I did one step a day. And taking one day at a time still. And here I am 7 years later, still learning and growing!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I like to think that I am a personal flower messenger.
I write customer’s love notes on cards, and the notes inspire me of what I am going to create as I hand select a vase and gather the blooms. In these moments, I remember a quote that always feels true. Flowers are love’s truest language. They speak in colors and scents, in the delicate curve of a petal, of message that words can’t always capture.
I am forever grateful for the trust clients place in me, allowing me to create “Designer’s Choice” arrangement with seasonal flowers in our aesthetical point of view. Every floral design is one-of-a-kind, true and unique to each message it carries.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the cherished family traditions surrounding the Full Moon and New Year festivals in Korea. Growing up in a large extended family, these occasions were a time when we would all gather together to celebrate. The days were filled with an abundance of food, laughter, and joy as we ate, played, and rested. The connection I still share with my extended family, continues to remind me of the love and support that surround me.
