Today we’d like to introduce you to William Wright
Hi William, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was struggling with my own mental health, as a young teen into early adulthood. When I got my own mental health in balance, I knew I wanted to support others in doing the same. I was always searching for a way to be able to help people in a way that felt authentic to me, and when I discovered coaching, I knew that was the right path.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t a smooth road. One of the struggles was dealing with the stigma of mental health, specifically in the BIPOC community. Often I hear limiting beliefs such as therapy is stupid, coaching is dumb, men should be strong enough on their own, or vulnerability is weak. These effect how open some people are, and consequently, needing to continuously educate on these topics can be overwhelming, and sometimes frustrating.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am deeply passionate about the mind-body connection. Common areas of focus include work-life balance, finding a sense of direction, and navigating feelings of being stuck.
Typical outcomes for my clients include empowerment, increased self-awareness, expanded perspectives, emotional resilience, and feeling of personal freedom.
Clients often express appreciation for the safe, judgment-free environment I create, allowing them to uncover what holds them back. Leveraging curiosity and empathy, I guide clients in connecting the dots so they can move forward with focus, confidence, and motivation.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I used to go bowling with my best friend from high school on Friday nights, and it was always something we looked forward to. There was a special rule where if there was a red pin in the front AND you got a strike, you got a free game. I never got a free game, but my friend always did, and he’d share it with me.
