Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffani Douglas
Tiffani, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Tiffani Douglas, born and raised in Oakland California. I’m a rapper actress and singer songwriter.
I started rapping in high school and since then I’ve rapped all over the Bay Area and United States. After dropping numerous tapes and going viral across social media, I signed my first record deal with FOD entertainment/ Empire records based in San Francisco ca. in 2023.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Me being a lesbian woman and talking about my life in my music has definitely made it a lil harder for me because I am not being overly sexual in my music and I don’t dress provocative like other women in the industry. Also I’m not pushing the violence narrative in my music. I’ve learned to grow tough skin and to understand that everyone is not going to like my music and I’m ok with that because I would rather be authentic to myself.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I did my first back to school backpack and school supplies giveaway,last year in my community and I was really proud of that. I gave away over 200 backpacks and school supplies in honor of my late grandmother Minnie Thomas who was one of the first women in Oakland California to start a drug treatment facility, she dedicated her life to helping the women and children affected by crack cocaine. I am also a committee member of the LGBTQ Lakeshore cultural district
Where we curate safe spaces and events for the gay community . I believe what sets me apart is that I’m trying to be the change I want to see. So I’m putting in the work in my community to make things happen.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success with how many people you have helped. I believe you become rich in spirit and blessed by god when you give to the less fortunate and take care of your family.
