Today we’d like to introduce you to So Hyun Park
Hi So Hyun, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I graduated from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, where I majored in Motion Graphics. After graduation, I had the opportunity to work with companies like Google and Apple. Currently, I am enjoying working as a freelancer with various companies.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. While I had the incredible opportunity to work with prestigious companies like Google and Apple right after graduation, there were several challenges along the way. Transitioning from a structured environment in school to the fast-paced world of top tech companies was quite demanding. The expectations were high, and I had to continuously prove myself and adapt to new technologies and workflows.
As a freelancer, I’ve faced the uncertainty of inconsistent work and the challenge of managing multiple clients simultaneously. Balancing creativity with the business side of freelancing, like negotiating contracts and ensuring timely payments, has also been a learning curve. Despite these struggles, each challenge has been a valuable lesson, helping me grow both professionally and personally. Today, I find great joy in the diversity and flexibility that freelancing offers.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in motion graphics with a strong foundation in illustration. Having trained in entrance exam art in Korea, I work quickly and efficiently. While I primarily work digitally now, my solid art fundamentals greatly assist me in my projects.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that most people who know me or my work might not know is that I have a deep passion for jazz music. I often listen to jazz while working, and it provides me with great inspiration.
