Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherianna Boyle
Hi Sherianna , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started writing about a year after my third daughter was born. She was a terrific napper and by that time, I was an experienced parent. So rather than do the dishes during nap, or fold laundry instead I opened up my laptop and started to write. I self-published my first book and within a year a publisher approached me about writing a parenting book on childhood anxiety. I accepted the invitation and have been writing since. I am in the process of releasing my eleventh book, Just Ask Spirit: Free Your Emotions to Energize Intuition & Discover Purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. The struggles have been around learning the industry. Everything changes so fast. I love writing, yet the selling part kind of sucks. With that said, without sales your chances of getting picked up by a traditional publisher decrease pretty significantly.
I have had to embrace the suck and have been very fortunate to have good sales. My book Emotional Detox has been my strongest sale. I expect Just Ask Spirit will do the same. I think it is the best one I have ever written.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I really try to make my books different than what is out there by offering perspectives that are perhaps a different angle, backed by science and completely practical. I created a seven-step mindful system placed in the acronym of C.L.E.A.N.S.E. I am very proud of this method. It took seven books to come up with it. It is the foundation for my Emotional Detox Coaching practice. I think what sets me apart is my signature method.
What matters most to you? Why?
Hands down my family. Everything I do is for them, really. My marriage is a definite priority. I also use the practices I write about daily. I think it is important to practice what you preach. I don’t just use them on myself but also my clients. This helps me to be confident when I go out and promote my books. I know these tools work.
