Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelly Devlin

Hi Shelly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Well lots has happened since my first interview with you in August of 2023…….life as it often does took a few turns and I have shifted my direction a bit…..this is my “meet me” page of my new updated website @ shelly devlin.life

Meet Shelly, a passionate hairdresser, who has honed her skills in the art of transforming hair into beautiful masterpieces. Through this life long career she has learned the importance of attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to bring out the best in others, but Shelly’s journey doesn’t stop there.

She has also emerged thru the years as a platform artist and motivational speaker, using her voice and her platform to INSPYR and uplift others. This role has taught her the power of words, the impact of sharing personal experiences, and the ability to connect people from all walks of life.

Additionally, Shelly has embraced the role of educator, imparting knowledge and skills to aspiring hairdressers and professionals that has deepened her understanding of the importance of patience, adaptability and the joy of seeing others grow and succeed …

As an author Shelly has delved into the world of writing using her words to captivate and engage readers. This endeavor has taught her the beauty of storytelling, the art of crafting narratives and the ability to envoke emotions through written words.

Shelly is also an artist of all mediums expressing herself through various forms of art whether it be painting, sculpting, photography or jewelry making she has discovered the power of self expression and the freedom it brings …

furthermore Shelly is a Reiki master harnessing healing energy to bring peace and balance to those she works with. This practice has taught her the importance of mindfulness, intuition and a profound impact of energy healing …

last but not least Shelly is known as a retreat goddess, guiding individuals on transformative journey of self discovery and healing. Through these retreats and personal life coaching she has learned the significance of creating sacred spaces, fostering community and facilitating personal growth.

Shellys diverse experiences have shaped her into a compassionate, creative and empowering force. With skills and passion she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Smooth….no not smooth at all…..not even sure how to quite describe it …May of 2023 rocked my core. I didn’t share it with the world but my work is all about wellness from the inside and out from the outside and in and I feel that transparency is valuable. It’s tough sometimes, but it also validates… gives you credibility and sincere honesty. Every day can be a struggle. It’s how you choose to look at it …how you choose to put 1 foot in front of the other…. how you choose to climb the mountain that’s ahead of you …sometimes just when you think you have life figure it out, the universe decides to throw you the biggest curveball you’ve ever seen, actually, you never saw it coming…. hit you between the eyes like a bat to the face …removes the breath from your lungs leaves you alone to pick up the pieces….so here it is…. at 57 years old the love of my life walked out…. I’ve spent all of my life in professions that nurture, care and are focused on Soul work… now it’s just time to take my own advice.

I guess you’d call me kind of an entrepreneur of a plethora of things… All revolving around wellness, beauty, and art…. You can read more in the link that I posted above on my retreats are what I’m focusing on right now and still dabbling in all the other things that bring me joy …what sets me apart from others? I don’t like to be set apart from others but I’d like to lead, inspire and build people up. I like that to be a group effort. Nobody’s perfect nobody has it all figured out. Sometimes you just need an INSPYR-ation coach to lead the way

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?

wow yes….so many to list….mentors, cheerleaders and so many supporters! I have been graced with so many wonderful people in my life personally, and professionally. They often joke, wondering which chapter of my next book will be about them. Several of those people made it into my first book, ‘As the chair turns… untangling the meaning of life”, which is a memoir of me as a hairdresser standing behind the chair for so many years…. book 2 is coming, slow moving right now.
