Today we’d like to introduce you to Santa Living
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Santa was born in 2019 with a clear purpose: to find freedom in interior design and create a world that reflects our values—a world that makes us happier. We started small, with a textile collection designed by us and made by local artisans.
Today, Santa has grown into an international studio where we explore and play with interior design, creating products and transforming spaces. We like to call it “designing atmospheres.”
The journey hasn’t been easy, but with perseverance and good decisions along the way, we’ve turned Santa Living into a reference in interior design.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been extremely hard, but it hasn’t been easy either. When you start a business, your world changes—you meet others in similar situations, but you quickly realize that everyone’s path is unique. Some grow quickly, while others face constant challenges. For us, the road wasn’t smooth, but we’ve learned to overcome every obstacle that came our way.
We’ve always asked ourselves, *What’s the worst that can happen if it doesn’t work? What do we really have to lose?* These questions have been with us throughout the journey, helping us move past the fear of making tough decisions in uncharted territory. For example, our lives now are completely different from five years ago. Back then, we both had full-time jobs mixed with Santa, but little by little, we let go of them to fully dedicate ourselves to Santa.
At the end of the day, any decision can work out just as long as it’s not made out of fear.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Santa Living is a studio where we explore interior and textile design, creating products and spaces that feel like an escape from the hectic life. What makes us different is our ability to see a space as a whole—thinking about who lives there, the objects we choose, the pieces we design, and the materials that bring it all together.
We always start by asking *Why* or *Who*—questions that lead us to a concept that inspires every detail and gives each project its own personality. One thing people often mention is how we incorporate art into our spaces, making it more than just something to admire. We bring it closer, giving it purpose, warmth, and a sense of belonging.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
This question really excites us! Along the way, we’ve met many people who have played a crucial role in our lives or have contributed in some way to our world. Thanks to them, we are who we are today. But we owe a special thank you to two people in particular: Maria Carvajal (@soymariacarvajal), our mentor, and Christian Schallert, owner of Maison Brummell (@maisonbrummell). Both have always inspired us and helped us let go of the fear of having such a structured mindset about how life should be. Life is about taking risks and playing with what you feel, while staying true to your goals.
Maria, as a mentor, helped us in the first year of Santa to truly understand who we were and become aware of what we were capable of. Christian, on the other hand, trusted us and allowed us to be part of a project that’s made an impact worldwide. Both of them will always be key figures in our journey, offering inspiration and support.
