Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Enid Cosme – Rodriguez
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi my name is Rosa Enid Cosme. I am a spiritual woman, a mother of two adult children, and a wife to a wonderful husband. I have been a Podcaster since 2019 a former Latin Urban Music Entertainment promoter back in 2008 to 2011 and Radio Host for a popular at the time, virtual radio show with affiliations with other radio shows.
In February 2011, I experienced excruciating pain in the left side of my face, jaw, cheeks, and eye including severe migraines. In August 2013, I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia and Occipital Neuralgia., In October of 2015, I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a brain tumor/brain cancer.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road; I had to undergo open brain surgeries and craniotomy. I had to be hospitalized many times due to those health conditions. I had to also undergo a full Hysterectomy back in 2022 because I was battling also with severe anemia, but I can truly say that with all the faith I have, I believe it has brought me this far.
Trigeminal Neuralgia itself is a horrific chronic disease. If you are not aware of what is TN (Trigeminal Neuralgia) it is a chronic facial nerve pain disorder.
If you are experiencing new, severe, or persistent symptoms, contact a health care provider.
The symptoms include:
Severe shooting pain that may feel like an electric shock
Pain or attacks activated by touching the face, biting, talking, or brushing
Pain areas include the ear, eyes, forehead, jaw, or mouth, and face
Over sensitivity, sensitivity to pain, or uncomfortable tingling and burning
Can be only one attack of pain, some may experience sharp pain every hour or every few seconds. It depends on how severe it may get sometimes it can last for months or sometimes on and off too.
Also, I wanted to add that since the age of 12, I had experienced my first seizure in the corner where my parents had lived at the time. neighbors running to my parent’s home letting them know something was wrong. I was out I didn’t remember what had happened, but I was escorted to the Hospital by the EMT.
I developed Pots Syndrome right after. Horrible fainting from just moving is frustrating because at times I have no idea when or how to move around at times. In 2023, I went to meet up with my brother and his family to enjoy a beautiful summer day at an indoor waterpark, we were all having fun, I watched my baby niece and nephew enjoy the water and rides until we ended up wanting to enjoy the Wave Pool, everything was fine until I got much closer to the waves and next time you know I am being pulled out because I had seized and possibly the pots triggered that reaction. Yes, it was one of the scariest things I have experienced in front of my family.
I strongly believe that Prayers move mountains meaning that if you pray with faith and the hopes of better days. You shall receive with that said, the prayer below has been one of my continuous ways of connecting with God.
Father,
Be near me in my time of weakness and pain; sustain me by your grace, that my strength and courage may not fail; heal me according to your will; and help me always to believe that what happens to me here is of little account if you hold me in eternal life, my Lord and my God. In Jesus’ name, I pray 🤲 Amen.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently a podcaster, Season 5 will be released on October 1st (Fall Season Edition) and I am also a writer, and author.
I am writing my First Book Series based on my life story with episodes and soon it’ll be available for the public with the option of purchasing the short stories or the actual book itself; as paperback or hardcover on Amazon Kindle. Actually, right about now there are two episodes live on the amazon kindle app or website.
What am I most proud of? I think is my strengths, determination, and courage.
What sets me apart from others is that I am raw, I embrace my authenticity without worrying about what anyone may think of me or my work. I embrace women’s empowerment, and aging. I collaborate with those who are in the same mindset as me.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is the pursuit of meaningful connections with others, as it fuels my personal growth and allows me to contribute positively to the communities around me.
Something I would like to add about this question is that we live in a world packed with material possessions and are encouraged to chase these things. As a result, our needs never seem to stop growing. So, we keep running. But what matters? Listen, we run after bigger television sets, newer smartphones, and better cars. We run after job promotions and luxurious holidays.
We tend to think that more money in our bank accounts will translate into happier lives. While offline and online shopping can bring us short-term satisfaction, it rarely matters in the long run. The wise do not chase after materialistic items. More clothes, smarter gadgets, bigger cars, and luxurious houses can make our lives more convenient, but do these things bring us long-lasting happiness?
They don’t.
What matters in life is happiness itself. Happiness comes from having a purpose in life, loving and accepting yourself and others, and maintaining good health. Most importantly, GOD.
Without these, you will always end up feeling unfulfilled and unhappy.
I hope this answer was good. I think so. . :) God Bless you
