Today we’d like to introduce you to R033y

Hi R033y, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

Back in the year 2020 was the beginning of “R033y” or “Robby.” It was more of a persona developed during my college years based off a nickname. I didn’t really know who that was yet but I knew that it was special and very personal to me. Moving forward from that came a lot of life-altering experiences that caused for adaptability to fruition. Throughout it all though I was still musically inclined, I used what I was going through as a marker and my beats were the whiteboard.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Mental blockages were a definite opposition that I faced. We as human beings can get caught up in negative thought cycles due to our environment and circumstances. For me, it was a constant battle between the present and the past. It was my first time truly being alone and figuring it out for myself and that came with both positive and negative outlooks. There were times where it was smooth sailing, and I was in a creative pocket almost everyday.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I’m mainly a musical artist and also specialize in producing beats. I’m well known for my “spaced-out” music overall although I’m very versatile. I would say I’m most proud of my ability to hear what I want to create and creating it. What makes me different from others is that I don’t define my music, my music defines me.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?

Definitely consistency. I know we hear that a lot nowadays but it truly is an important factor to anything you do. It does get to a point where you hit a wall and it’s “I want to give up” or “I don’t think this is going anywhere” but truth is we don’t know that, nobody does.
